He was ill ("a bout of flue" if i remember correctly)... But the day after, he was singing at Koko... for the big tour launching...

I'm sorry that you don't get refund, Pamette, but it's clear that it's a festival, not a Mika gig, and the fact that you were going just for Mika is not their concern... There are other artists in the festival, so in their opinion, if the festival is still on, they don't refund tickets... That's understandable ! But i'm sorry for you, though...

They don't say they feature Mika for sure before they have confirmation from his staff... They say "not confirmed" when it's not sure, to still have his name and for people to watch for it, but when they say "confirmed", it means that they got the OK from his team. Too many requests ok, but that's exactly what i'm saying : if they thought just a little bit before saying OK, they would realize it's too much and he won't be able to do it ! And saying NO without the fans knowing it is waaaaay less disappointing that saying Ok and then finally NO... I do think they have a problem...

It's not a question about who is responsible for what, or why they do cancel the gig (except for illness of course) they should pay attention to what they plan, that's all ! Whoever plans it ! I mean there is money engaged in all those things !!! People buy tickets, sometimes a fortune, and "pouf" ! It's all gone, no Mika... They have responsabilities, thay have to think about what they do.

- My sister missed him at HMV (she was going for me ) when the signing session was cancelled because of the free gig in central London they had planned on the same evening (early February for LICM release, i think). The 2 events had been planned for at least 2 weeks, and they announced on the screens that the signing was cancelled while people were waiting for him to sing... - The signing session at the Virgin (Paris), certainly for pretty much the same reason if the gig at the Hippodrome is still on... - 2 events they planned on the same day in 2 different countries : Swedish Göteborg and Good Morning America on August 10th They chose Good Morning America, so Göteborg is cancelled - Werchter because of TV appearance - Sziget No reason known - Sweden the day between Manchester gig and Big Girl video shooting (because of ear infection) - Monaco because of TV appearance - the first Brighton gig the day just before Koko (he was ill, he had "a bit of flue", and the gig got rescheduled though) - First day of the art exhibition which has been transformed into a private party... for the people who had planned a day trip to London that special day... - St Gallen Festival, Switzerland (because of ear infection) but then someone said he had cancelled it to preserve his voice for the Olympia being recorded for a DVD - Nibe Festival, Denmark (problem with vocal chords) cancelled the day before in the afternoon, and doing a secret gig for a radio in the evening of the cancellation... - WOW Festival, Sweden : GMA is too important, of course... - Roskilde Festival, Denmark : pneumonia... But played Oxegen (Dublin) and T in the Park (Scotland, Balado) the days after... - Lyon Les Nuits de Fourvières July 12th (ENT infection...) - Summercase Festival July 13th and 14th, Spain (ENT infection...) - Zambueira Festival, Portugal, August 5th ("health problems" known in advance) - Frequency Festival, Salzburg, Austria, August 17th (ENT problems known way in advance) - Saint-Jean sur Richelieu (Quebec), Canada, August 10th (health problems) - Big Chill Festival, August 3rd, UK, no more info for the moment... Cancelled on the day of the festival... It starts to be pretty much a lot... They have quite a real problem with organization, don't they... Oh ! No i'm not going to the gig on the 21st... It will not be a real gig, he will probably only sing one song, then a lot of people will be there, way more than i can stand (100.000 people) and i have evening lessons on thursdays... A lot of reasons why i can't go to this one !! Honestly, i don't think i'll be able to do the road trip with you girls in november-december I'll see in october (when i start) how it will be, but i don't think i will...

Are they real questions ? Well... - Not going to any other French gig, cause all during the week, and can't take days off (i won't be in the same attachement, so i don't know how laid back they will be about missing days) - Both Paris dates ? June 30th and October 11th... Are they the ones you're talking about ? - i don't think i'm going somewhere else than UK, than London or around, actually... - changing my posting at work ? i don't get that one...

That's not an excuse : it's not the first time they plan a signing session at HMV just before a gig ! They did it in London, and i remember that cause i had sent my sister there (she still liked mika at that time ) to get the CD signed for me... But just while they were waiting for him to arrive, the screens said that the signing session was cancelled ! With no reason given. The reason was that there was the Vodafone (or i don't remember which mobile operator) gig under the big tent in central London ! I don't know if some of you remember this one, it was early February, for LICM release... Both had been planned for ages, and they cancelled the signing just while people were waiting !!! At least, what we can say is that they cancelled Virgin before people got there and queued during hours... All that to say that it's not a "first", and they haven't learnt the lesson, have they ?

Are you sure you can't find a spare ticket somewhere ? Have you been to the "extra-tickets" thread ?? I think i've seen some people say they had spares !!! You should really make an annoucement here, and/or in the "extra-tickets" thread... I think you would be sooooooo disappointed if you come and meet us all and can't find any ticket there And rices on ebay are decreasing approaching the event... Keep an eye on them ! They've been half-priced in one week for the Olympia on June 30th in Paris, so keep faith DOES ANYONE HAVE A SPARE FOR YUPPYMUNCH ?

Hein ?! I'm so sorry for you Pamette, for Werchter !! I know it knida sucks that they all plan gigs everywhere and realise afterwards that they can't do it... They should really think and ask for his opinion (if they don't do that) before planning him somewhere ! It's getting frequent that gigs or events are cancelled And guys, d'ont forget !! This maybe about a French contest, but maybe you should go back to English talking...

Yes, on RTL2 from yesterday to next sunday (June 24th)... I think a lot of people listened to NRJ waiting for the contest... The weirdest thing is that someone called NRJ last week and they replied that the contest would be on their radio but that we should call them during the week end to know more about the dates... I don't know what happened But definitely on RTL2 this week ! You have to call them when you hear 2 songs of Mika one after the other.
