Full Biography

Pop magpie Mika's bright, kaleidoscopic music has drawn comparisons to everyone from Queen and Elton John to the Scissor Sisters and Rufus Wainwright. Born Michael Holbrook Penniman in Beirut to a Lebanese mother and American father, Mika and his parents moved to Paris while he was still a very young child, and eventually London by the time he was nine years old. The frequent moves, incidents like his father being taken hostage at Kuwait's American Embassy, and bullying at school affected young Mika to the point where he stopped talking and was taken out of school for six months. At this point, music became Mika's lifeline, and he soon began formal musical training, which included voice lessons. Along with studies at the Royal College of Music, in his teens and early twenties Mika also recorded with the Royal Opera House and created a jingle for Orbit chewing gum. He dropped out of school to concentrate on his take on pop music, inspired by freewheeling songwriters like Prince and Harry Nilsson. His debut single, Relax, Take It Easy, appeared in fall 2006, but it was its follow-up, Grace Kelly, that broke Mika in the U.K. Released in January 2007, the song hit number one on the singles chart thanks to heavy downloading, following in the footsteps of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy." I made my entire family once. The sim of my brother looked exactly like my brother, too. He was even wearing a shirt identical to one he wears. It was so strange!

Ooooh I'll have to go find the interview. I haven't seen a lot of them. I absolutely love hotel toletries too! I love mini things - they're so cute. I wouldn't steal towels though because at least with that they can track down who stayed there last and charge ya! Although I have wanted to steal a pillow though because it was so comfy!

The interview was with the BBC. I think I downloaded it off the forums..? it was a radio thing.

Ok people, don't call me a a freak but I've tried to do Mika in the sims 2 LOL and he does not really look like him (because he's too gorgeous) but I believe he's quite cool

HOLY CRAP! Thats awesome!!! Pretty darn close, too! I love sims too. Once I made my brother into a sim and it freaked my mom out cause the sim had the exact same manorisms as my bro then it died.

Yeah!! Then we could have a hotel party!!! Annnnd too bad it'll cost way too much. That's why we're going to try to skip getting a room unless if we find a cheap one. : (

Did it say in an interview that he takes all of the toiletries? I haven't seen that one! Also... I'm guilty too. I take all, or most, of the toiletries whenever I stay at a hotel hehe.

lol iu like dressing up like yestrday i bought that great sweatshirt(its all rainbowy) and new braces, but i also bought the bird watch mika has from swatch haha i loved my outfit last time, and im wearing it again, just with better additions

I went shopping with lovetoday! And I've got the same rainbow sweatshirt haha. I also picked up my first pair of braces!! They've got piano key design. Mika will just have have HAVE to marry me on the spot when he sees my Mikagasmicness.

No, no, no! We wouldn't sleep. I think we're probably just going to hang out there and eventually find a restaraunt that's open late. Maybe get my night owl friend that I haven't seen in years to come out and join us! I'd never sleep out in a park, never! I shouldn't have said the word camping lol.

I'd be amazing to get rent out hotel rooms just for MFCers! haha.. oh boy that'd cost lots. But we could steal all the toiletries like Mika does =]

What about feather boas?! I saw two of those at the concert and I thought it was a great way to get noticed.

 

Oooooorrrr maybe people will be able to pick us out because we'll be the ones that look super-duper tired! I think I've just decided today that my friend and I will skip the hotel, save a couple hundred bucks and camp out there haha. Just look for the bags under the eyes during close ups! ; )

 

Too bad we didn't know Mika's favorite color, then we could all wear that color and just be a huge group.

Camping out in the middle of NYC in the middle of the night.. Hmm.. that screams SAFETY!!!! And I don't thinks Mika picks favorites when it comes to colors. He wouldn't discriminate. <3

I havent seen him =[ I PMed him a whiles back (like about a month ago and I forgot about what) and I still haven't gotten a reply!! Where oh where could he beeee?

Oh, the horror! i'm already getting confused about who people are, what with all the similar usernames and stuff. and ooooh, then the site would slow down to a crawl. it's acting weirdly slow tonight and there's barely anyone on. i don't want to think about what'll happen with a huge onslaught of new people.

Yeah, I'm having some loading issues as well. What will happen to the MFC when more and more people start to sign on? Does Sunny Monkey have to buy more bandwidth or something? I'm not really forum savvy haha. I'm gunna miss knowing almost every active MFC member!! With Mika's rising popularity it's not doubt this place will explode soon.

Hmm, nothing at the moment but I'm liking the bright colors + posters idea. easy to spot! I mean, you could bring really obnoxious noisemakers or something but then you might be thrown out..which would be baaaddd! so scratch that. I'll tell you if I think of something!

Oh god, that would SUCK! Taking a train into the city at 4am to get kicked out. Haha, ok I'll try to control my behavior then. I really want the MFC to get on tv, but then again I don't because this place is busy as it is! It'll be hard to know everyone when theres like 1,000,000 users.

I hope the MFC gets on TV! I'm gunna make colorful posters to hold up. One will say "Mikagasm" of course. Any suggestions as to what else the MFC can do to be noticed? I'm idealess besides colors and posters.

I'm not sure! Since I have work (well, I'm a counselor at a camp so it's not like REAL work) the day before I might just go right to bed after it ends. That'll mean sleeping at 6 then uhh get up at like 2 to shower and get mikafied!! I gotta get into my rainbows and such =]

I'd say! I have to miss work for Mika! I suppose coming in late is a possibility but since I'm catching a 4am train ima have an issue with staying awake.

Stage lights get extremely hot and jumping up and down doesn't help.

Haha I suppose it is! It's funny because I met Mika after his Nokia concert (after he was drenched in sweat) and he didn't smell at all! He smelled good, if anything! How does he do that?
