    Don't want to put a dampener on things - but don't get your hopes up too high - there's a strong rumour Mika is no longer playing at Big Chill therefore will he still do this radio appearance?? The two things are probably closely linked.. LET'S HOPE SO - but just be prepared girls.....

    Who remembers the fuss some of the papers made back in around March when it ws RUMOURED that Mika had turned down a support slot on Take That's winter tour?? They were scoffing, saying that it was a 'bad move' and suggesting Mika was saying he was bigger than Take That (all rubbish we now know). HA HA HA HA !!

    Ok more things I love from the 80s: TV: Battle of the Planets (Japanese anime) Rentaghost (ha ha, one of the main characters was called Mr. Meeker, I always think of him these days:wink2: ) The Tube The Young Ones Brideshead Revisited (I had a huge crush on Sebastian:wub2: ) Razzmatazz Cheggars Plays Pop derderder derder der-dee-der der, etc..

    It's absolutely not fair on the fans, nor is it fair to blame Mika; lessons just need to be learnt for the future by his management!! I'm sure Mika hates the thought he's letting fans down but..it must be a difficult situation for him too!

    Is GMA the free outdoor thingy in New York? Sorry, I'm still catching up after my hols. My bet is, he won't cancel that; it's probably just that he/his management think two shows in a day will be too much. Canada just got the sh** end of the stick.

    I hadn't thought of it like that. I hadn't considered that younger people might not even know what EP stands for, or what they were in the days of vinyl. I kind of see your apprehension now! It is a bit of a throwback for Mika to do this. Typical Mika really:naughty:

    When I say 'white lie' what I mean is, cancelled due to illness sounds better than cancelled due to ear condition and overwork - oh you know what I mean! Just subtle semantics I guess.

    The Cocteau Twins used to do it in the 80s (one of my fave bands), to great effect. Some of their best stuff was on EP, they used it as a bridge between albums too. It worked. That was in the days when EPs were 12-inch vinyls!

    I really can't wait to hear the recorded version of Holy Johnny. I just wonder how it will sound! He needs a bridge for it or something, it's a bit short:mf_rosetinted: Get onto it Mika. I suppose we'll have to wait for the second album for that.

    I don't think it's a case of Poor Mika anymore. This ruthless shedding of appearances is obviously an admission that his schedule was overloaded in the first place. He may have a chronic ear problem but he's not ILL. Correct me if I'm wrong!! It's a white lie they are using as a reason for cancelling. I've stopped sending him get well messages now! Poor fans, yes.

    I agree it's difficult, but as I'm 14 years older than him, sometimes I feel motherly towards him rather than *the other thing we shall not name*. But only sometimes. I find it helps.
