  1. Anyone know what time the doors open? It says 7.30 but is that the time the show starts?? Will there be a stripper on first??
  2. Perhaps they were just testing the water, to see if they could afford to offer the download at a cheaper price? Trying to give value for money? I don't know. I don't know how these things work.
  3. Yes I agree with you. However, have you seen the Refund thread FD has just started? It mentions that the price of the download was reduced because of 'global demand'. So it appears the market research theory might be valid; they wanted to see how popular the download was likely to be. It makes a bit more sense now, at least from the record company's point of view, though I still can't personally ever imagine pre-ordering a download.
  4. Great, thanks for posting. Not affected personally by this but glad to see it's being dealt with. 'global interest'.... that sounds promising!!
  5. Now you see...I am at that picture. Prawns are my favourite food! Though the pink flower is a bit unappetizing . YUM!! I am a Pisces and love all things fishy and aquatic, even bizarre Mika lyrics.
  6. Ooh I have just been on the mikasounds ticket shop and there are no longer tickets on sale for London. It's officially a sell-out, then?
  7. Do you know, in my naivety, I hadn't even thought about that possibility! Yes that would be extremely annoying. Anywhere in the front half of the stalls would be fine as far as I'm concerned. I have pretty good eyesight .
  8. I wonder who will be on the front row? Not me, that's for sure. Even though I opened the presale link at two minutes past twelve on D-Day . It was forty minutes before the sale went through. Not that I'm bothered, I'm really not. I just think it will be exciting to see who managed to get the coveted front row .
  9. Ok, I see the logic in that, I suppose. I have never ever seen a pre-sale download before though. I'm not saying they don't happen, just that I have never seen it. And I thought it was just odd. But let's not get bogged down in this, it's really not a major issue although those people who have ended up being charged 51p too much might disagree with that.
  10. Not all of us, don't worry . I do not own one single dress and I won't be buying one just for this gig .
  11. I loved my time there. I spent most of the weekends in Largo do Camoes . I still have friends there and have been on holiday there several times since. If I ever win the Euro lottery I will buy a big house there . It'll be nice to meet the malta portuguesa .
  12. I lived in Estoril for four years, I know Cascais sooo well..my second home . I think you weren't even born though when I lived there...omg that makes me feel so old Maybe I bumped into your Mum though at some point .
  13. Yes. I think you're right btw, where are you from in Portugal?? Don't want to go off topic too much, but I just wondered.
  14. It can be horribly humid in summer in Britain, yes. Every day can be a bad hair day unless you have copious amounts of anti-frizz hair products. I am bulk-buying already . Your hair goes limp in the humidity? Mine is the complete opposite. I go 'back to the 80s' with big hair if there is even a hint of moisture in the air. It's not a good look.
  15. I've got a shocking pink umbrella..quite girly, but I would actually like one of those parasols like the one Emily "I am a lady" Howard has. Hail storms are quite a distinct possibility. Perhaps we should bring helmets instead of umbrellas to cover all options?? Then I could leave my helmet in the pub toilet instead.
  16. Let the heavens open on June 8th! I will bring a glamorous umbrella..which I will leave in a pub toilet .
  17. True true. I find that drunkenness is a great antidote to torrential rain on a night out...you basically don't care if you look like a drowned rat. So: good weather - sober and glamorous rain - drunk and decadent
  18. Oh that brings back so many memories!! Once a woman always a woman. Well....unless you are a transexual. I'll shut up now.
  19. But my question wasn't why did people pre-order the physical CD . I understand the reason for that. Nor was I questioning why anyone would download the EP; I did so myself five minutes after it became available. I was just wondering what the advantage was to people to have pre-ordered the download version, as I couldn't understand why that was necessary. Somebody replied that it was just for convenience as she had her credit cards out at time of ordering the physical CD/buying tickets. That kind of answered my question .
  20. Agreed, lyrically it's obviously not a happy song. It just has that sad lyric/happy sound dichotomy which Mika is really adept at. I get a more African feel from the beat. Although of course, African beats and Calypso beats are related. It sounds like something I used to hear in the African-themed nightclubs I sometimes used to go to when I lived in Portugal.
  21. The UK song was nice - though not exceptional IMO - and Jade's performance was really excellent, but let's not be fooled: the main reason UK did well this year (unlike previous few years) was due to the change in the voting system. It was great to see Eurovision back to its former glory, with the best songs and performances getting due recognition again rather than being lost amid the awful political block voting of the last few years . I take it back: it wasn't that Europe didn't like us. The voting system just didn't like us. Last night was proof.
