  1. According to Wiki, drums are acoustic..it's any instrument that doesn't use electricity/electronics, basically. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acoustic_music So Cherisse can stay Yes! This suits the more Emo Mika very well! Yes I thought that too. It's definitely not clear which songs are on the EP.
  2. Yes, and Mika's concept of time is unique, as we know. So..which characters is he supposedly 'ageing by 10 years'? Lollipop Girl = Good Gone Girl, I can kind of see that, but not sure I can see too much more evidence for this 'concept' I think we know what he is getting at though (good job we are used to interpreting Mikaspeak!)
  3. My husband was joking a while ago, saying he reckoned Mika's second album would be a prog-rock concept album to rival Dark Side Of the Moon. Yeah, as if! Too funny. So last night when I told him about this mention of Pink Floyd he was like " I was only joking!" I don't think a few schoolkids shouting angrily over a gospel choir constitutes prog rock though Or maybe it does!!
  4. Well done, you just beat me to it, you two!! And...wasn't it in a video interview where he actually mentioned the Six Songs of Sorrow title??? I am not attempting to find that...sorry, my brain will explode!
  5. You have! I posted about it just now but I think my post has been missed . He definitely mentioned this title - well it was 'Six Songs of Sorrow' actually - absolutely ages ago. There is a thread. I will try to resurrect it from the depths if I can.
  6. Precisely! Just because he is doing an 'acoustic' tour doesn't mean the EP will be acoustic and I don't think it will be. He might do some acoustic sets at the Festivals. On smaller stages. I don't know! Still so many known unknowns, as Donald Rumsfeld might say.
  7. Hang on a minute, have I missed something? Does it actually say in the Q article that those four songs described at the end are the ones on the EP?? It may just be that Mika was asked to give examples of four new songs from the EP or the full album. (Sorry if it does actually say that; I'm too excited to read properly at the moment ) Edit: I see Sariflor has just touched on the same point in the post before this.
  8. Of course, I always believed him about the EP Such exciting news, thanks Freds for transcribing all that! We Are Golden..aha! that must be the 'not give it all up when you're young and you want some!" song!! A Pink Floyd groove? That sounds absolutely awesome in theory at least! Wow I haven't been this excited since January 2007
  9. The online urban dictionary also mentions that munter can mean a drug user, although I've personally never heard it used in that context.
  10. My ten year old daughter is obsessed with The Beatles...and I mean really obsessed Recently she had to write a list of her Top Twenty favourite songs of all time (okay, I know she hasn't been around all that long, but still..). Twelve of the songs were Beatles songs. Four were random 80's classics. AND THE OTHER FOUR WERE MIKA SONGS!! I was proud.
  11. I agree with every single word of this (ok maybe not the melting part ) Again, I agree. We all know Mika's voice is so much more than just a startling falsetto but in the public consciousness he is still 'that one who sings like a girl or like the Bee Gees'. His lovely low register will, I hope, come as a pleasant surprise to a lot of people, although I still think the Mika Squeaker tag will stick for a long time to come..unfortunately!
  12. I hope the Pennimans' smallest room has a diamond encrusted toilet seat fit for the Lady's bottom to sit on or she might have had to pee standing up . Do you think she did that thing you do when you're in your swimming costume and can't be bothered to take it off properly??? I'm sorry for the toilet humour, I'll go away now (but daisylou started it )
  13. I went for Good Gone Girl because I truly believe it's going to be the first single and his biggest hit since Grace Kelly. However it was very close between that one and Toy Boy, because the latter could well end up being the standout song on the album. Possibly the most 'Marmite' song too as far as critics are concerned .
  14. The video is good, though (I like Destrokk anyway, I like all their songs even the old ones.) The GGG-like bit is at 2:26. Okay I admit, it is a bit tenuous, but I do tend to hear weird things in songs
  15. Having watched that, I am now at least 95% sure it's munter. I'm quite excited now. Lip reading is a wonderful thing!!
  16. Punter! Yeah Daisy you may be right, that does fit in much better! Clever you! Although I am secretly hoping it IS munter . Come on Meeks, come through for me on this .
