I liked the episodes where Chandler was really in love with Joey's girlfriend Cathy/Kathy. I thought that was really touching, especially the one where Chandler bought her that special book for her birthday and made it look as if Joey had bought it ...and he had to pretend the "light-pen" was from him That's what makes it so good, it can be touching one second and hilarious the next!

Can I be the Honorary non-Baltic member of this thread?? I've recently become very interested in learning about Latvia, and the Latvian language. I promise I will NOT turn the thread into a hommage to Prata Vetra I already have a place for that on MFC . I'm interested to know anything about the Baltic States, particularly Latvia. Feel free to educate me about anything vaguely Baltic (babuccia has already told me about the festival of Jaani in Latvia )

Nice post Pam ^^ Despite the fact I am very much a fan of alternative/indie rock I am not a fan of Pete as such, or of Libertines or DPT or Babyshambles, but I acknowledge everything you say above. I can see and appreciate that Pete has a big talent, which unfortunately is very much overshadowed in the popular media by the constant needless obsession with his drug problems. I think it's a great shame. Whenever I have seen Pete interviewed, I have been struck by his intelligence and eloquence, and likeability. It is too easy for people's view of him to be biased by the media coverage..yes, he is clearly a troubled soul and no angel, but there is much more to him. His music FOR ME PERSONALLY (we all have our own tastes:wink2:) is a little too formulaic, and I am not the greatest fan of acoustic guitar and voice, but nevertheless he undoubtedly writes and performs from the heart, in an honest way, and anyone who does that is ok by me.

I do think Mika will go for a ponytail at some point in his life Hopefully before he is 30, as no man over the age of 30 should be allowed to wear a ponytail, it ought to be against the law. Maybe a ponytail/sideburns combo? I could work!

calicojasmine, just to say, my birthday didn't show up on the homepage either and I checked my settings and they were NOT set to 'hide date of birth and age', so I was a bit surprised by that. Maybe there is a glitch in the MFC system somewhere. Anyway I can understand how you must have been a little put out by it ( I admit I was, just a little, so I hinted for someone to start a birthday thread for me well it had to be done!! ) so, Happy Belated Birthday from me, anyway

That game was amazing last night wasn't it, I was screaming at the telly! I feel a bit sorry for Petr Cech (spelling?) though, I like him.

Full time Portugal won 3-1 They were not very convincing though today...definitely not as good as Spain and Holland.

I love Friends, it never fails to put me in a good mood when I watch it..I can watch repeats numerous times, it doesn't get any less funny! I don't have a favourite character..they are all great, even the minor characters like Gunther and Janice and Ross and Monica's parents.. My fave episode is the one where Phoebe tries to get off with Chandler to force him to admit he is seeing Monica...that dance she does to try and turn him on is just hilarious It's just a brilliant show! Personally I am true to my real name, and definitely most like Rachel, with a bit of Ross thrown in
