2/3 c butter 1 1/2 c flour 1/2 c sugar 2 egg yolks - set whites aside - slightly beaten 1 t vanilla 1 c chopped nuts (recipe calls for walnuts - but i use pecans - or if family is bitching about the nuts i will eliminate them completely!) beat butter in mixer for 30 seconds add half the flour, the sugar, yolks and vanilla beat til combined beat in remaining flour cover and chill 1 hour or till easy to handle.... the fun part! shape dough into 1 inch balls roll balls in egg whites and then in nuts place 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheet press centers with your thumb! bake in 375 degree (that is farenheit - so do the metric adjustment) for 10-12 minutes or till edges lightly browned. cool on wire rack fill centers with a small dallop of jam (seedless raspberry is the best) and i drizzle them with a glaze made with powdered sugar and lemon juice

just popping in to say hello! i am still alive! (i know i haven't been on in a while!) so much going on - christmas shopping work and regular everyday housewifely and motherly things.... our best friends are moving next week... we have been together (in the same towns/cities) for the last 11 years - (and in the military - that is almost impossible! ) they are moving 3 hours away - honestly, it could have been worse.... my daughter is the one the most distraught about it - she and their son are the same age and have played together since they were old enough to roll around on the floor! i am not meaning to moan.... it's just that i'm sure i won't be getting my mika fix next month... and so life is a little dreary... i feel like eeyore today....

i know! i am happy for all of you! wish i had my own private jet at times like these! as it goes - looks like i probably wont be even going to one here.... gotta go!

hello oldlings! just popping on for a second while hubby ran off to the store - we are getting ready to put up our christmas lights! hope you are all doing well.... seems that i probably wont be able to go to any gigs here in feb... am thinking that maybe he doesn't like me enough to come further south than 6 hours away! oh well! what can i do? hope you are all doing fine - havent caught up at all - but noticed you have a mika gig in your sig wendi!

it's probably warmer in nyc than it is where you live wendi! since you are much further north it's 1 degree c there right now - feels like -6

exactly.... don't get me wrong - i love snow but i don't really enjoy driving in it (i would rather play in it and make snow angels....) and i don't like it when it's so cold outside that my nostrils stick together...

i know i know! i have been doing the same thing! i was hoping that he would be coming a bit further south.... it will be cold in february..... the thought of queing in nyc and philly with snow and ice - not to mention the drive - is not very settling either... :eek:
