He does know a lot of very successful people though (Katy, Lady Gaga, Adele, Kanye West). I like that he doesn't use them to get ahead, but it would be nice if they did something behind the scenes for him.

Yes I've been hoping for that as well. Apparently Kanye loved Mika's new album and even listened to some of them in the studio with Pharrell, but he never even mentions him in the press (neither does Pharrell). I find that kind of odd, but I guess a collab wouldn't really get Mika attention (like Celebrate) but one with one of his lady friends Gaga or Adele could help boost his fame a little I'd think. Not that it's going to happen

Well it's not really taken seriously here either. And the only reason I watch it is because I like to get wasted and cheer for my country to win

But if the UK aren't taking Mika serious now either way, what would it hurt for him to participate? I wouldn't mind it if he got some attention in all of Europe, who cares what some people think anyway? People are always going to be negative about artists, and like I said before I think any publicity is good publicity.

There is no way he's going to do it though so you can relax

After what he did to Popular Song with a former Nickelodeon star I don't see why he shouldn't participate in Eurovision. Any promo would be good promo for Mika nowadays imo. And I don't think all of the songs are seen as a joke in Eurovision, I was quite proud of Sweden's contribution last year, Euphoria, it was a great song.

He directed 2 The Killers' videos, but don't think he is directing this one, though it would be awesome

Can you imagine if he had directed a video for a song like Toy Boy? Would've been incredible. But yeah, Tim doesn't direct many music vids unfortunately. And this song is not really that alternative and indie enought to catch his interest I would think.

I'm guessing Mika and Ariana are going to be victims of bullies at school at the start of the video then showing off how they're popular at the end of it or something like that, which is how I've always imagined a video for this would be. But I still want a photo of Mika on the set now

Off topic: When I went to school when I was younger a gang of loser bullies would hate my awesome looking hats that I wore so they used to smack them off my head. But they were obviously just jealous of my sense of style

Sadly I don't think any Swedish festivals are going to try and book him this summer either but he hasn't done a single piece of promo here for T.O.O.L so how's anyone here going to remember he's still releasing music?

Sometimes I get irritated at him for recording parts of his album here but not playing any gigs or doing promo for it here. Frustrated Swede...

That was Magdalena, she got her prize eventually, it's the doodle with the artwork that Mika had made for the album (photo on previous page).

But there was another doodle, which looks like the one they posted today on his FB page, that was apparently won by a fan last year.

Since we were talking about this a few days ago, this is what happened today in France. Good news for human rights.

 

The French National Assembly has approved the most important article of a bill to legalise same-sex marriage.

 

Deputies voted 249-97 in favour of redefining marriage as being an agreement between two people - not just between a man and a woman.

 

President Francois Hollande's Socialists and their left-wing supporters backed it, opposed by many opposition UMP and centrist MPs.
