  1. OK so I didn't get Lollipop Girl but I remembered something just as exciting yesterday... the venue Mika's coming to has heaters outside for the queue!!! :punk:
  2. I'm going to Minneapolis, I think she's going to Chicago. So maybe that's it? the Chicago concert is happening first, maybe they're figuring out LG's in order.... or at least I can hope.
  3. OMG congrats!!!! That's soooo cool!!!! :punk: :punk: but now I feel like a rejected Lollipop Girl....
  4. Glasto was in June, you really think that 8 months would pass before the MFC would notice that wonderful little dance?
  5. Someone already made it into a gif awhile back...
  6. Well, I have nothing against the Packers. you gotta respect 'em, they're good. Weren't they like, 14-4 this season? ...cause we were like 8-8.
  7. Hmm... Wisconsin... Sorry, Minnesotan.

    why?

OK I think I figured out some: The Chordettes' Lollipop starts on a D and Mika's starts on an A. Then they both jump up a fourth step. Then they both go down a third step. Then Mika's goes down another third while the Chordettes go down a fourth. They both have another jump up in the chorus, but the Chordettes only go a third and Mika goes a fifth. Please correct me if I'm wrong, music people!

    why?

No, they are similar. For instance, the Chordettes' version's first word is "Lollipop", and on the "I" syllable they jump up a fourth step (if I'm not mistaken). On Mika's song, when he sings "suckin too hard", he jumps up a fourth step on the "hard" word (If I'm not mistaken). And then after the fourth interval they both have descending notes... So the melody is similar in that way... and that's as far as I'm gonna go for now. It sounds like there may be other similarities. But not accusing him of plagiarism.

    why?

for some reason, I had always thought that that was the reason he didn't sing it. But it guess it's something else.
  12. lovempls

    why?

Not quite... they're almost similar: I made a comparison - just click Tell me if you can't see it.
  13. lovempls

    why?

I went back and listened and Mika's "in your head" is a little bit higher and a little bit slower. But yeah. Still love it.

    why?

"Zombie" But you see, it's not me, it's not my family. In your head, in your head they are fighting, With their tanks and their bombs, And their bombs and their guns. In your head, in your head, they are crying... "Erase" Erase my love I bet you can't erase my touch You're tryin' to replace A feelin' without a name With somebody else's face In your head I swear if it's not the same notes then it's really close to the same notes. And the same rhythm too. But I'm not trying to say anything bad about the people who wrote Erase
  15. lovempls

    why?

I totally agree. But it's such a pretty song...
  16. lovempls

    why?

The Cranberries. But I'm not accusing whoever wrote Erase of plagiarizing, of course. The song's wonderful (IMO)
  17. lovempls

    why?

Because of the one line that's basically identical to the song "Zombie"? But seriously, I love that song. Both of them.
  18. Haha, very good! MPLS/STP is Minneapolis/St. Paul. It's okay, I didn't expect anyone to know that
  19. Mika got a mention in the St. Paul Pioneer Press here in Minnesota. Nothing new, but they basically spend the whole time pointing out that he's famous everywhere in the world except the USA - which isn't necessarily true, but really no one's heard of him here in MN... 4 days!!!
  20. but even if you're not a fan.......... he's so pretty
  21. She actually seems like she doesn't really like him... At least I think so. Like when he leans her head on his, she pulls her away, and she just acts kinda distant. But maybe I'm reading way too much into it or just hoping for something
  22. Sorry to interrupt but I love the image of you bringing Mika a purse full of pancakes especially if you poured the syrup in there too
