I actually picked up the WarChild Heroes cd. Some really great interpretations on amazing classics. I would love it even if it weren't for a cause I believe in so much.

A trip to Europe sounds fun. I will keep my eyes open for info on that.

I can totally get being freaked out but almost relieved at having a diagnosis to tell you why you don't seem to feel or react in the same way as people around you. Unfortunately, people who have never experienced the world the way you do will never really be able to understand it, and may or may not be able to come close to understanding based on what you are able to tell them. It can really hurt to be told 'just stop being that way' by someone you care about who doesn't understand. I get a sense from your post, though, that you have a great deal of inner strength. The CEO where I work does a lot of work with Autism Canada to try to help educate people about autism. When he started sending out information, I was surprised how little I knew. I didn't realize how many different forms of autism there were, or how many different levels of ability to interact. I hope you don't mind my saying this, but I really respect and appreciate your writing about your experience, so that those of us who read your post can have a better understanding. Folks really are from all over on this group. I've seen a few places visit periodically (my mom and stepdad live in Victoria), places I have been, and places I want to go. I am getting the feeling that, music aside, the world traveller and culture junkie in me is going to get a lot out of this site.

Hello all. I have to admit, I am a little shy about posting. I am not normally a joiner of clubs. I was happy to find this one, though, as I think I will have a much better chance of hearing about opportunities for live shows, or when new music is released. And I really love the creativity and passion in the music. I really couldn't tell you how I stumbled across Mika, but this music has been a godsend at work. When I get stressed to the point of my head exploding, Life in Cartoon Motion has been phenominal at drawing me back to an upbeat yet calm place so I can deal with the next crisis. OK, with the exception of today, when the cd happened to land on 'Any Other World' right as the crisis adrenaline was wearing off, and I almost cried. Still, I do thank him for the sanity. Anyway, nice to meet all of you. I'm looking forward to learning more about the community.
