  1. I almost forgot to come here, thank youuuuu tumblr. To be fair, lots of Americans don't bother to do much digging into politics either. I try to, but I guess I can't say I've perfected the art being as like 50% of what I"ve heard comes from Jello Biafra and the internet. Oops... Well I don't see why it couldn't be great. The way I see it ads serve a purpose, but at the same time they can be pesky. Like, what if you had physical people knocking on your door 24/7 asking you to invite them in to talk about their cable benefits or how they make pizza dough? That's kind of how I think of it
  2. This is exactly why I ALWAYS hang out at the venue after a show. Not only do you make sure you don't miss a meet & greet, but it's good to bum around and get some water/talk to some people you were near
  3. Darn, goodnight I'll talk to you then! Exactly! The more out in the open things are to the public, the better. I firmly believe that. At this point I can't say the US lives up to my standards when it comes to that, but every time I hear of things like that in other countries it just makes me happy to know that they exist Probably. They're integral to society in a lot of ways. But I do wish I could have the opportunity to see what it would be like without ads of any kind, just for a few days. To see what it would be like, you know.
  4. Hmm. Yeah, pretty much. And now that you bring it up, the whole "freedom of information" thing probably has its benefits. Exactly. Which makes me think, what would we even do if there were no commercials? I'm sure it would be possible but they're everywhere and I wish I knew what people would think if they just DISAPPEARED one day.....
  5. That's actually really strange. .___. Here if you know someone's social security number you could pretty much destroy their entire life Exactly. But at the same time, I guess people consider commercials an important part of the American society. Now I'm not a big fan of how we run things here, but I at least understand why they fit in and why people are supposed to watch them. :aah:
  6. how am i supposed to find out your social security number the entire point is to make sure no one knows it omg We used to not have to, then they disabled fast forward on a lot of things. On my network anyways. It's awful. Like, I'm not gonna buy any of this anyways, I'm broke, sigh Well you can't really ever call a commercial "good" either way
  7. Mark my words, I WILL find out one of these days Woah, it's definitely NOT free. It comes with cable, but that said, you have to pay. Well they do suck for the most part, but my point was that rather than just being commercials they're actively trying to make them entertaining. As opposed to just "hey buy this k"
  8. Really? so now all I have to do is look through your 5,000 tweets. Welcome to consumerism. :mf_rosetinted: That's why I loved on demand tv so much, until they stopped letting you fast forward through the commercials. At least they try to be interesting though, otherwise I would die.
  9. You did? Lucky They were in my town and I could have gone to see them, but I didn't end up going. I know what I said. Yeah, I learned that lesson last year. Ksenija gave me a stream to watch with her, and the serbian voice-over was.... interesting. The good thing is that in other countries, as I've discovered, there are WAY less commercials. That's right, I beat the system. :naughty:
  10. Well when you do, I wanna be the first to know. Half because ilu and half because I still haven't found your last name. Good. I need to find a stream so I can see the final, gone are the days when I didn't know it existed. This competition is the best thing I swear
  11. It's never too late! Facebook is actually pretty useful. I use it mainly to message people, which is the only way I stay in touch with 90% of people that I talk to on a daily basis. Oh crap, I forgot about Eurovision! Who's good this time around?
  12. DUDE. Over a year? That's insane!!! We gotta do something about that. maybe we can just schedule a thread-filling party and get this one done with. if anyone even shows up it's only ahead by 15 minutes for me. Still, it's misleading. xD
  13. No problemo :teehee: Years? That would be weird. I don't think so. I remember I started coming here in summer 2012... and of course all summer was pretty much perfect, so it couldn't possibly have been YEARS...
  14. wooooooooooah ok see this is how I KNOW it's been awhile. How could I forget that adorable face. :3 :3 I don't even know why it fell apart the way it did tbh. I mean, we had a pretty good thing going for us. Filling up threads in less than a week, and now we've had this same one for months.
  15. I know, me too. I still do them with Xen, but the rest of you, I barely remember what you look like :aah: it's so strange. Just because I'm not convinced that people will start frequenting here again like they used to, regardless of whether I'm here or not. I'll definitely try though.
  16. Good! It's been too long since we were both here at the same time. I don't think we've even been on tinychat for, well, MONTHS. It's good to be back! Even if it's only temporary.
