mariposa Posted October 23, 2007 Share Posted October 23, 2007 NICE'S GIG REVIEW First let me say that i was really looking forward to seing this gig (and please excuse my bad english) we arrived to the Nikaia me and jennifer (a friend of mine) late...really late because she was to finish her courses at 18:00 and she had to prepare herself and we drank some vodka before going....lets say that it was ME who asked for it i wanted this night to be very special and it was...the only problem was that i was to meet 2 italian fans from MFC but well i think they were already inside when i arrived...my head was dizzy and i really wanted to find a nice place...the Nikaia is soo big and i think we must have been 5000 to 6000 people... minutes after arriving Yelle started her show...i must say that she's not exactely that bad...i liked her and danced like mad to her song "a cause des garçons" then she finished and we waited...i lost track of time and was very eager to see mika...after what seemed to me nearly half an hour Mika arrived with the usual tune of relax who was really loud and transported me...i was in a kind of trance and overwhelmed with emotion...Mika was dressed in white with the usual white stretch trouser and it was kind of embroided (? ) with gold...he was as energetic as always...and then he sang his usual songs...i lost track of the order of the songs because my head was anywhere but in the Nikaia...i was on my little star...in the outer space i really liked Grace Kelly and was more than overwhelmed with happy ending and billy brown....jennifer was shouting and i was dancing but (this morning she told me that i was dancing like a monkey ) anyway the gig was huuuuuuuge the best one i have ever seen...Mika told us that Nice was his second city of adoption in france because he used to come on vacation on the cote d'azur to villeneuve Loubet (which is a small city between nice and Antibes) and he thanked his french fans for beleiving in hin even though he subscribed once in a song contest in Juan-les-pins but didn't win... What was special in this gig : *mika had a problem with his socks....he was constantly pushing them up *The stage had a nice decor...with lights and the huge Big girl puppet *He sang his now rather known new songs *He declared his love to the cote d'azur and said that he still have family here *A very energetic Realx and grace kelly song with an emotional happy ending That's it i'm really sorry for my lack of details but i don't exactely remeber what really happened ....as i said i was in a kind of trance...i wanted to meet mika after the gig but jennifer insisted that we should go because she was not feeling alright (i don't know what she was having but she wouldn't tell me ) so i had to accept and came back with her...when i arrived home it was already 01:00 or kind of....i don't remember( i don't live in nice) and i woke up at 6AM this morning took a shower and made it directely to my university...where i am right now...writing this report in the library. thank you so much for your report!!! We shall have to see. Has Cubitus been kidnapped by Mika!LOL! We haven't heard from him yet. I'm with you Rose, I am a bit worried about how tired he's been looking and all this talk about a constant sore throat...maybe he has the same problem as me: every time I am a bit run down, I have a throat infection...I guess some people just have weak throats, and I reckon he's one of them. It's terrible if he's falling ill now and it's only the start....I do think that the schedule is too much and he should not do 3 nights in a row in different cities....But that is the way it's been planned unfortunately so there's not a lot that we can do about it- just hope that he'll be fit and well. He looked so fresh and well at the first gigs!! I think that he's probably not getting enough sleep and that is the root cause of it . P.S. Thanks for the lovely pics, those of Mika with Cherisse are sooo cute!! they made me smile big time, haha!! They are having such a great time, it's fantastic to see. LMAO would probably turn into a disaster: he's skinny but so tall.. lol I didn't notice the cut in bologna, though I am not sure, cause I was in a kinda mika-trance obviously. as for the sore throat, he kept covering his throat with his hand (hence violet's comments LOL). it blew cold in bologna, as well in other cities o.c. could it be he cached some kinda cold..? my worry is more the fact his voice is getting stressed for the too intense frequency of the gigs. sigh, london is long way to go and weather is getting colder and colder everywhere. I agree with you, but I know many people who love to have alcohol to make them relax and be "in the mood". Not me, I like the NATURAL HIGH of MIKA DEVOTION!! Photos, reports, all great, thankyou!! Can't open those files, but I am sure that will recover later. Hope Mika is not really sick again.... boring and old? I agree with Robertina and Blue Sky, the mika`s effect is really bigger and better than any alcohol and is natural and healthy!
