I am leaving out traps tonight though, as they are eating all my cookery books, and the cat biscuits as well Its inevitable when you stay on a farm - but when you leave them unchecked then there are more and more come in - they know how to party do the mice up here!!! I am finding mouse droppings over the work surfaces in the kitchen every morning - and I scrub it all clean at night, so I know there is no food there to attract them - that is a sign that there are a few nests in the house. I have an ultrasonic mouse scarer - that stops them nesting and drives them back outside - but someone unplugged it!! I will use the traps tonight - and the us thing is plugged in now - so by Monday I should be mouse free - and only had to use the traps for two nights!! Â My sister was bringing her 6 children up - but in the end only brought four, so I only had to cook for 8!! She is just away - her car broke down, so they have all just left in a big tow truck!! Â We tried live traps before and and whenever we let them go we would catch another one the same day and this kept happening for a while and then got the 'other' traps and they stopped coming. The plug in thing works well, while that was plugged in I didnt have any mice in the house!!! I have even rescued baby bats that have fallen down my chimney, and I sit with them on my jumper until they are strong enough to fly outside again!! Â I am totally exhausted now to be honest!! I did too much veg though, so we all had a good three portions of our 5-a-day!! And her bairns ate ALL my grapes and half my apples!!! There was a hole in the chimney and somehow the bat got into the walls and then I could hear it, but never see it! It was very creepy! At one point it got behind my light..
