I love the Yorkshire nicknames for towns. Its class! Ok, but the funniest accent is by far Barnsley. When they say 'Leave me alone!' It comes out 'Leave me a-low-un!' Laura
Errrh, im not sure!! Ive never heard of that! You mean like laundry detergents? We have uhhh, Daz, Vanish, Oxy Clean, Comfort, I cant think of any more!!! Is Persil a detergent??? Oh, but the best household cleaner you can ever buy is Cillit Bang. With that annoying shouting guy called Barry Scott in the adverts.... hilarious. *shouts* 'LIME, GRIME AND SOAPSCUM!' *sings and bangs head* BANG! CILLIT BANG! CILLIT CILLIT CILLIT BANG! Do you say 'were' instead of 'was'??? Eg - Southern = 'It was really good' Northern = 'It were real good!' The offical Barry Scott face mask = http://tachyontv.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/mask.jpg Ohh gosh!! I just saw a new advert for a new detergent! Its called 'Woolite' For washing your wools!! Its this weird guy talking to two girls about wool....... And he goes 'THATS BECAUSE YOUR DETERGENT ISNT A SAFE-TERGENT!' And then they use 'Woolite' and magically, all the little bobbles on their wool disappears. i saw that earlier, how corny and lame was that Yorkshire is a language in itself I think you Geordies have pretty much your own language too!! lol Urrrh more yorkshire, basically say t' instead of the. We can say T'internet or T'interweb instead of the internet Or instead of 'the other one' its t'other one! Yeah! I love the Yorkshire nicknames for towns. Its class! Ok, but the funniest accent is by far Barnsley. When they say 'Leave me alone!' It comes out 'Leave me a-low-un!': LOL I'm from Barnsley! CazGirl
Why not Essex? There are some lovely places in Essex!Look, no rose tinted glasses! my hometown is filled to the brim with chavs and trouble makers. And wannabe hard-nuts and people who can't use standard english. And little girls who clearly haven't heard "Lollipop" if you get me. Everyone knows everyone where I live and it's not necessarily a good thing. News spreads round like wildfire. Even if you don't know someone, you're pretty much guarenteed you know someone who knows them. I hate it. I really don't belong here. I'm much too sophisticated (here's the beginning song from "Beauty and the Beast" by the locals outside...)
