Hello, Charlotte

You're going to see Mika Too??? Yeaaahhh!!!

My tickets came in mail today.

I am so excited, this is better than Christmas!

I don't know what I'm going to wear...

The perennial question.... what to wear, complicated by the "do i do any costume" issue, as this is a mika gig.

Leonita I don't think the grinch has come, maybe I'm just finding a little backbone.

Charlotte, is your aunt about 30 in years but about 12 in maturity with red hair and a snub nose? If so, then they are one and the same.

Hi.

I've been reading a lot of things here on the Mika Fan Club site for months.

I can relate to many of the different groups here and this is one of them.

I am in my thirties so I guess I'm an "Oldling".

I just figured out the "chicken" meaning. That is very funny. The only thing I don't understand however, is the penguin reference. Sorry, I tried to figure it out but I'm confused and I'm not sure if I'm mixing this up with another group of people. I think there is a penquin thread. Is Reni the same person as Rak and Rose?

Hi t.a.o.!

:welcomeani: to the Oldlings!

You've stumbled onto a great group!

The penguin thing? Well, Reni is definitely not the same as Rose.

And Rose is RAK1, who went to many of Mika's concerts this past

fall, dressed as a penguin. You can see photos of her in her

penguin outfit on my myspace page here:

Reni's penguins are a little different. A group of girls started a thread

a while ago with a different name, and it evolved -- I'm not quite

sure how they started talking about penguins, but I know that it has

nothing to do with Rose's penguin. :)

In any case, feel free to drop in here any time -- we're all a little

preoccupied with holiday planning right now, but several of us still

manage to pop in many times a day!

Talk to you soon!

Hey! Yes, I am. Yep, the madness is going to start all over again for me. I haven't gotten over the last trip. LOL!! Of course, I don't want to. I loved it way too much. Nothing will ever be the same as my first time. LOL

What to wear? Hmmm, I always say, be yourself and like what you are wearing. For me, it's whatever fits well. :biggrin2:

Hmm, well, she's a little older but doesn't mean they didn't get separated at birth. And, actually, she acts older! She's kind of a prude and doesn't get it. Although, she wants to go see MIKA and I won't let her because none of my Josh Groban friends liked her. Therefore, I'm not taking her to a MIKA show. :boxed:

T.A.O...Welcome to our wonderful "Oldings" Forum. BTW- none of us are old in here. Well, we sure don't act it anyways. Chicken meaning? Huh? There's a chicken meaning? :naughty:

Hi DEB!! I miss you! :huglove: So, coming to any west coast shows? huh? huh? huh? Awe, there's ROSE. :)

Hello, welcome!

I was wondering about the penguin thing too.

then there's the pink pony thing- some days it seems there are too many 'in' jokes going on here! (I mean, in MFC in general)

Maybe there should be an explanation of them in the FAQs!

I'm not thinking of a costume costume for the concert, just an outfit, a lot depends on how long I'll be standing outside in the cold that day.

I think I've started a sort of Chicago field trip day for Feb. 5th, some of us are going to the Art Institute before the concert, it should be fun!

What do you all think of this?

I know someone who would love to see Mika as well, but they sort of ruin/suck the fun out of every event I've taken them to, so ... I sort of bought tickets for me & 2 friends, but not for them.

Now I feel bad about it, and it's going to be so hard not to say anything for the next month 1/2!! They're going to find out sooner or later, do I just try to keep it quiet??

Well, I wouldn't worry about it. My Aunt got a little pissy with me and I told her that Mika wouldn't be her kind of concert because she hates to stand. She then said, "Well, can't you get balcony seats?" I said, "you can!" I don't mind standing for hours to get a good place to see him.

She sucks the life out of all the fun too. She doesn't like to stick around to talk with everyone, or like in the past, she did and then she alienated everyone by calling them freaks for going to all the shows. I was so humiliated. She makes fun of me but I secretly thinks that she really wants to have fun with it but won't. I finally told her that I was sick of her judging me for going to see Mika and Josh Groban and that if she wanted to hang with me, she would have to accept me for who I am.

But, I WILL NEVER TAKE HER TO A SHOW WITH ME. If she wants to go, she can find her own way there. It's no fun to go with someone who will suck the life out of your fun.

Oops, I think I just ranted. Better stop now..I could go on. Bottom line...DON'T TELL!:naughty:

Quick bump - p2 - we are obviously all soooo busy x x xx x x

I'm bumping your bump, Carri! Yes, way too much to do!

Hi DEB!! I miss you! :huglove: So, coming to any west coast shows? huh? huh? huh?

hey Charlotte! :) I would LOVE to come to LA... I have this friend

in San Diego who I really need to visit... it's just that the LA show is

on a Monday... don't know how I can justify the trip to hubby. He's

been traveling for work so much lately, it makes it really hard

-- our 15 year old is a good kid, but I don't think he should be left totally

on his own yet... especially not with both parents out of town, and no other

family nearby...

Sometimes it sucks to be a grown-up... :sneaky2:

Well, there's an idea... but to get a sense of what the Pink Pony Riders

are just read the first post in the thread -- it's a group of fan-fiction

writers. They sorta kinda use Mika and other real characters, but not...

As for the other in-jokes... well, that's just a question of being here over

time, I think. If you have a question about anything, I'm sure someone

here would be able to answer you.

so

maybe it's because it's a busy period

maybe because i'm such an absent minded person

but prob because i'm OLD

this is what i did (better, didn't) today.

i posted my little parcel for wendi (containing two cds i spent hours to burn as i'm technologically handicapped and two very nice mika pictures) WITHOUT PUTTING STAMPS ON IT!

i bought the stamps early this morning, put them in my purse and then, after some hours, posted the parcel without them!

i realized only when i saw the stamps in my purse when i opened it this afternoon...

in short

i phoned the mail central office three times, then another time later in the afternoon, drove through the xmas traffic to reach the central warehouse where they collect the mail (obviously in the countryside opposite where i live) and finally stuck the stamps on wendi's parcel....thanks to the very kind ppl of our national mail!

now i demand, i require consolation!

:huglove:

Robi, you made me laugh out loud! I'm sorry! But I would have done (have

done) such a thing! I often get frantic looking for my keys, only to

discover that I'M HOLDING THEM IN MY HAND!

*sigh*

We Oldlings need to stick together.

Mostly so we can take care of each other!

I love you :wub2:

oh thanks!

we should start looking for some very nice retirement home on a caraibbean island (some young lads advisable too) where we all will go and talk merrily about our mika years in peace... finding mutual consolation and support! :biggrin2:

ah

i provided a good treat anyway...i helped myself TWICE of a good choco sponge cake covered with whipped cream!

carri, tell me off...and show some aerobic exercises as punishment! :naughty:

My son's already found the place for me... unfortunately not in as nice

a setting as you suggest. It's called the Sunrise Community -- and they

have a little sign under their big sign which says: "With a special facility

for those with memory impairments."

They mean Alzheimer's patients... he means ME. :sneaky2:

young lad with curly hair of course! :wink2:

Are there any other kinds???!!! :thumb_yello:

no there aren't for definite.

and you know what?

we'd better choose a cottage in the swiss alps...he seems to like them better than the caraibbean seas! :biggrin2:

and then he would pay a nice visit as he did at the children hospital in london...and sing just for his faithful oldie fans! :naughty:

I loved the Swiss Alps -- let's go NOW! I've aged substantially

over the last few days! I'm ready for a rest home... :naughty:

And Blue and I were talking about this the other day -- she said,

"I hope we're still listening to his music 20 years from now! Even

though it's hard to imagine a 44-year-old Mika!"

And I then I realized, I'll be nearly 70 in 20 years!

Yes, might as well put me in that cottage now! :biggrin2:
