Droopsy
Mika's 2007 mistakes Dec 28, 2007, 7:30 GMT Mika says he has made lots of mistakes this year. The 'Grace Kelly' singer - who shot to fame in 2007 with his unique brand of pop - claims he has done many "idiotic" things in the last 12 months, but has no intention of changing his ways in 2008. Mika said: "There are so many things I regret. I make mistakes. I say stupid things. I do idiotic things. And, quite frankly, I'm proud of them. Why not make mistakes?" The 24-year-old star, whose debut album 'Life in Cartoon Motion' sold four million copies in the UK, also revealed he is in no rush to record his next LP. Mika said: "I am in no hurry to get back in the studio. I'm sure a lot of people would like me to get on with it but I'm going to take my time. It will be another pop album and it will be brilliant." © BANG Media International http://people.monstersandcritics.com/news/article_1383514.php/Mikas_2007_mistakes

Christine
This article sounds like rubbish. He hasn't sold 4 million albums in the UK. Why would he say he has many regrets about the idiotic things he's done and that he's proud of them in the same breath? I'm pretty sure he's going into the studio in a few weeks so why would he imply it's not going to happen any time soon? And what kind of arrogant ass says their next album "will be brilliant"? RAK1
But make sure you don't hit the Britney scale of mistakes :roftl: I would hate to see him with a bald head From what I know, that won't happen, thankfully. Heh heh! Hopefully the mistakes he makes next year won't be as bad as the ones he made this year, you know cancelling shows withoout an apology to all the fans, at least with the last two UK shows he made up for that, so I guess he's learning. But he's only human and he's bound to make a few faux pas along the way, so I guess that's why we love him so much.

lcmlcm
when i read the title, i thought it's a thread to list out his mistakes made to us ....oh...not me, im not any victim as i didn't plan to go to his show this year but i know i will easily forgive him if he really stand me up to me, it's err and learn... but not err and proud ... :biggrin2: As for the new album, take your time Mika, we didn't get bored from the first one yet... me too, i think it's the first album that i listen for over 6 months

Actually Christine, I am pretty sure I heard him say these very things on the Jo Whiley interview or another around the same time. It was sometime before Christmas that he did say this sort of thing. I thought it was weird when we already knew he was cancelling the Aussie shows in order to do the album, that he was saying he was in no hurry to do the next album. You wonder if sometimes he does this just to confuse people, or whether his right hand doesn't know what the left is doing... I also thought this thread was for us to "pick the mistake". Cuz then I would have said the one on the DVD was the most recent obvious one, where he mucked up the verses in HE.

Christine
Actually Christine, I am pretty sure I heard him say these very things on the Jo Whiley interview or another around the same time. It was sometime before Christmas that he did say this sort of thing. What exactly did he say? If there's one thing I've learned about Mika it's that most of what he says is ambiguous and non-committal and at best you've got a 50/50 chance of drawing the right conclusion trying to read between the lines. I wonder if his dropping V Fest and needing more time to work on the album is about composing and not about laying down tracks. You're going to have some further disgruntled Aussies if that's the case. But I still can't imagine the "brilliant" quote is accurate, serious and in context. Maybe the process of making it will be brilliant for him, but the actual album? Who would make such a boastful claim about a piece of work that doesn't even exist yet? MIKA is not afraid of saying he is not perfect. Now is days, all these artists want to be role models for society and is not working very well. However, MIKA is not on the list. THANK GOD!!. We all admire his talent, music and fun personality. Not in a hurry? :boxed: I guess I'll have to wait for his next album. It's OK, I'll wait. I thought they were called albums these days, but, for all you younglings out there who have never known the wonderful world of black plastic records... A single used to be called a '45', because it spun on the turntable at 45 revolutions per minute. An album used to be called an LP (Long Player) and spun at 33 and a third RPM. The Top Twenty, used to be called 'The Hit Parade', and it's the only thing that hasn't changed much, because it has always been on the radio on Sunday, at teatime. A history lesson today, from Marilyn
