That would be rather annoying, having to travel to get your toast. Can't the toaster come to your house some nights? :fisch:

I was talking about a real toaster there, missy!

Anyway, as someone still shopping for her first toaster purchase, I am sad that Deb will not post here to give us her advice. I would however, with all this talk of toasting, like to warn everyone to make sure to get your toasters certified when you buy them. Especially if they are pre-owned or have been used before. I know most young girls don't really want pre-owned toasters, but at the same time I understand many like toasters that have cooked some toast already, so they can know they are good at getting it just the right temperature. But unless they are brand-new from the factory, make sure to get its wires tested to make sure it has no nasty hidden bugs in the mechanics!

This one will cook your eggs for you

Oooooh! That's cool!!!

Multi tasking toaster... then again, it might be too busy cooking hte egg to be cooking your toast...

This is the most random thread I've seen in quite a while!

So having gone back and read the original toaster discussion

from the Wedding thread, I've decided that as someone who's

been married 26 years I'll spare you from my thoughts on

*that* kind of toaster...

But I do want to say that I really, really

love Beans on Toast. Mmmmm... :naughty:

dcdeb

Aww... but Deb! Share your toast experience with us!

BTW... nice avvie... inspired to put that baby photo there by anyone in particular?

*knows there is a Mika poptart reference but can't think of it*

Poptart..... wasn't that a video hits reference

If I remember correctly it was Video Hits in Australia and the interviewer called Mika a pop superstar sensation or something and Mika said "no, just a poptart" and giggled then proceeded to talk about how Poptarts have been banned because kids burn their tongues on them.

Yeah it was... and because I have to say it specifically...

Nathan: Would you say you're a bit of a superstar these days?

Mika: I'm a bit of a pop tart. *giggles*

And Nathan... dude as much as I love you, it's "The cream, the bone, the off white, the white, the ivory or the beige." *cringes cause she's listened to too much of The 12th Man*

and they were sooooo flirting!

Well you're certainly straight to the point there Jen

And Greta poptarts are these sweet pastrys with filling which you cook in the toaster. They don't sell them in Australia in many places anymore

They're yummy... and cost about $7 a box here...

I definitely need to get one of them!!!!!!!!!

Mika's being as ambiguous as ever.. :sneaky2: I was just PM'd a photo of Mika eating toast. Unfortunately the toast has both Ham and Cheese on it.. so it's anyones guess which he likes more...

mikahamandcheese.jpg

And it suspiciously looks like a lollipop wrapper underneath his toast...

Must've had a wrapper in his hand or something...

Of course! First, for now, just for you and the Aussie Marmites...

20374_large.gif

EWWWWW!!! Marmite???

Vegemite... not that I like it or anything...

TO GO ALONG WITH THE ROMANTIC TOASTER...THIS IS THE NAKED TOASTER!

Transparent-Toaster-Inventable_809497AB.jpg

Ooooh! Nekkid toaster!!! I want it!

And i won't even pretend to cover my eyes... cause I'm pervy like that...

Wikipedia has some interesting pieces of information about toast :wink2:

For a modern toaster, sliced bread is placed into the narrow slots on the device and the desired toast setting is selected (some toasters have more elaborate settings than others).

I think we already mentioned some of those more elaborate settings in here

Care must be taken while toasting bread to avoid burning toast unless it is desired in that state.

Some people do like their toast burnt, and some prefer it just cooked.

And of course....

Toast is a common component of many breakfasts

Plus it can also be quick enough to make before work, or school.

No I went to search for pictures of toast again, but forgot to press images. And then, of course, the wikipedia link was just there, so I thought I'd click on it to see what it said :mf_rosetinted:
