But... she's meeting college roommate for lunch today, won't get home until late tonight. Late HER time, which means REALLY late my time. But she did promise to go right to her computer and start uploading pics, etc. when she gets back! Christine Posted February 9, 2008 Share Posted February 9, 2008 I think it's funny that even when I don't speak the language I know that it's the identical interview questions that EVERYONE asks him. Hopefully by the end of this year they'll come up with some new questions. All of this repetition (and my own Mika obsessing) has improved my French comprehension immeasurably. Because I know half of what he's saying already I'm able to go back now and understand quite a bit of the other stuff too. God I've been to tons of sodding gigs over the years, but I don't think I've ever been this excited for a long long time. If that makes sense. It probably won't be anything like the other tons of gigs you've been to either so you're right to be excited! SORRY about saying "F-U" instead of "follow-up." I thought you had another FU in mind when I first read it, but I got what you meant in the end. *wants more pictures and video* I can't wait to see Char's vids!! All the mics were wrapped with lights and they had some big huge funky hands and some throne-like chairs and a spooky candleabra thing. We all held up our hearts when Mika came out and he said this has been quite a f****ing day! We've only ever done acoustic when it was just me and Mikey but we're going to improvise here. The crowd was absolutely wild for him so I think he started to realize we were just so glad he was there! He didn't do Relax first.. he did Grace Kelly! Everyone sang along and loved it. It was SO incredibly amazing to hear it live. I was on such a high! Then, I can't remember the exact order but he did My Interpretation, Billy Brown, Relax, and I thought I was going to die... he said well, this is such a different gig we're going to do somethings differently here and sang Everybody's Talkin' I wanted to melt into the ground!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not as long though, because of the fact all the band equipment was still in Wyoming. Only 45 min long, but better than canceling. ME TOO!!! This concert sounds awesome........whoever went to this, you're very lucky!! . . . he most certainly did interact with you guys heaps more! This is a very memorable show, a gig that I wish I could have when he comes here!!! SO LUCKY!!! It really was a unique experience! I think it was shorter than most but the uniqueness really made up for it. Oh! I forgot to say that he said he was coming back to Salt Lake City for sure!!! AHHH absolutely music to my ears! This must have been one of the most amazing gigs ever! . . . they're both sitting on that beautiful chair behind that awesome guy . . .looks like it was awesome...love the stage Wow . . . This gig must have been awesome. You guys are so lucky! The stage looks great and so do Mika & the band. Very unique and different experience I think. Mika really should do an acoustic tour! I would have paid extra too. Again, LUCKY! They got to hear how great his voice really is. So true! I can understand giving a refund, but I would have paid extra to be there too... such a rare show. You guys were so lucky. Sounds an amazing experience. I think most other people would have just cancelled it if half their gear didn't turn up. Not Mika though. The more and more I read and watch on this guy the more I'm counting down the days to the 25th. Just got off the phone with her and she's still very very excited! Well, I'll leave the details to her, but basically she said that Mika said the show was the most fun he'd had in a while -- they totally had to improvise everything. He didn't have his gear, his costumes, his set... so they made it all up as they went. They scrounged around the city for instruments, they made up a wild set, he just wore his blue trousers and a white shirt -- his hair wasn't even curled. Charlotte says she did take some good video and photos, so we'll have those to look forward to as well. And she said that Andy was on stage through the whole show videoing it. And she got to speak with Mika after the show -- he was signing some things but not doing posed pics, but hopefully someone got a photo of him hugging her. And a pic she sent from earlier today JUST now came through to me... And now it's bedtime for me too! dcdeb from FLICKR enjoy My goodness, I have no words to say how I wish I had been there. What an incredible experience!! I can't wait for Charlotte to tell us and to see the videos. I am literally waiting with baited breath for them! Seriously, someone should let Mika know (in an official way, like through the MFC admins or so) that so many of us would love to hear it in London...PELASE?! Deb, would you be able to organise it? or Freddie? Someone?? Sure we can try, right?? I don't think that Mika realises how much people love it when he sings that song- if he did, I reckon he'd still do it as a normal part of the set.
