kath Posted March 29, 2008 Share Posted March 29, 2008 Hey fellow MFC'ers! So we've had some growing pains over the last week, haven't we? It's been a little bit painful, but as I said somewhere else, it's been a temporary inconvenience for what we hope is a permanent improvement! Now that we seem to have completed our server move, we've been taking a look at the suggestions that have been accumulating in the MFC Suggestions thread, as well as listening to some other ideas some of you have had. In the spirit of a virtual spring housecleaning, we're actually making some of these changes (or have already made them), so I thought you might like to know what to look for and expect: -- There's now a separate section for Other Artists, and we've moved all the existing threads for other groups and musicians, including Mika's band members, here. The Introductions thread is now the Introductions & Goodbyes thread, the perfect place to announce that you're here and allow us to get to know you... or tell us that for some reason you're leaving... -- Coming soon, look for a separate forum for Mika's Music & Artwork, which will be a place for slightly more serious discussion about Mika's creations -- lyrics, music, art. -- We also plan to eventually add a new forum for Birthdays & Congratulations under the Members Only forum, and we'll move such threads there. -- Speaking of the Members Only part of the forum, we're going to see about making it truly for Members Only -- which means you'll only be able to view content there if you've registered with site. I think that's about it for now, although I'll edit this post if something else comes up... In addition to these changes, our very own Standard Toaster has been working with the new tech team to make sure that all the details that we take for granted are operating properly. He's fixed the clock, made sure that avatars and images could be uploaded again, and is looking into several other technical problems. for ST! cath85 Posted March 30, 2008 Share Posted March 30, 2008 can I just add my 2 cents? I don't wanna be a pain in the arse or anything, but I don't think creating new sections is such a good idea. I was once on a forum where they kept adding new sections, but in the end you were just fed up with having a look at so many categories that you stopped having a look into some of them and missed some important things and I ended up not going to the forum at all. the bday section is a good idea in theory, but honestly who goes in on every busy day? I don't see myself doing it and I know I'm gonna forget to congratulate some people I'm close with. sorry if you feel offended, especially those who worked hard for it, I just wanted to say my opinion Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well all of the threads that all new posts are in, since the last time you logged on, then I just choose what I want to read. However, I do think it's a good idea to have topics in separate sections just to keep things tidied up a bit, and it lets us search separate forums then if we're looking for sth.... Cant remember where I read your post Deb, that you were not sure if it had been done yet - but the "guests" list would suggest that about 25 of them are reading user profiles or members list!!
