Well, I asked her if she'd ever been to the Aussie threa and I just hadn't met her and she said she'd looked around here but not introduced herself and I said well hello fellow mikamite and she said hi. Technically that's not an invitation to come here I guess, but I didn't want to be forward. I'm feeling shy tonight. I even defended Mika in a thread just now!:shocked:

WHY IS THE SKY BLUE?

 

The blue color of the sky is due to Rayleigh scattering. As light moves through the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths pass straight through. Little of the red, orange and yellow light is affected by the air.

 

However, much of the shorter wavelength light is absorbed by the gas molecules. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. It gets scattered all around the sky. Whichever direction you look, some of this scattered blue light reaches you. Since you see the blue light from everywhere overhead, the sky looks blue.

 

If this Raileigh thing didn't exist, the sky would be black:bleh:
