Her knee is very swollen at the moment, but she's doing great!! Thanks for letting us know!! Sending you big hugs Patty!!! Kath - Eilidh was 6lb 9oz and Buchanan was 6lb 10oz - so this little one is just a couple of spoonfuls heavier!! Hiya Happi

dcdeb
Hi Oldlings! Just popping in quickly to apologize for disappearing last night. Life got in the way again Anyhow... I don't know, I go away to feed the dogs, and everyone leaves!Hey Deb, my hero:thumb_yello: nasty business about your sons shoulder. Poor guy must be in agony! Aw, Rose, I'm just glad you're back! Andrew is our real hero! Seriously, I don't know where the forum would be without him, these last few weeks. He's been the only lonely one holding the tech side of things together. As for #1 Son -- he's hurtin' for certain, as they say. We've been icing his shoulder and the doctor has him on a double dose of Aleve -- it's naproxen sodium, not sure what you might call it in the UK. He's had to cancel a few things this weekend and is feeling a bit rough... but as Ruth said, he's got youth on his side, so I'm hopeful he'll recover quickly. Yes, that is very good news Hope Patty continues to make progress. Yes! Please give her my best wishes if anyone talks with her! Oh well 'My' Baby was born this morning at 7am so I am all set for going tomorrow to start looking after him! He was 6lb 11oz.....a wee one, I think he will be the smallest I have looked after. I am very excited. How exciting, Kath! Hope he's an "easy" baby for you! Kath - Eilidh was 6lb 9oz and Buchanan was 6lb 10oz - so this little one is just a couple of spoonfuls heavier!! Those are tiny babes, Wendy -- I think I was about 6lbs 5oz when I was born. And look at me now! LOL! My nephew and his wife just had their first earlier this week -- 9lbs 3oz! What a big'un! But absolutely adorable, I must say. Well, I best be off... the carpet guys have FINALLY finished and my house is a wreck. I have to put everything back together again! Chaos -- I can't stand it. Talk to you later! Have a lovely day! dcdeb
Wendi
Aww Deb - what a cute baby!! I think I am getting broody Hope there is not too much for you to do after the carpet guys visit!! Just Googled Oldlings - and it came up with page 96 of this thread, and the other link was part one of the Oldlings last February!! Part 1 ran for 1895 pages, and the last post on that thread was on the 8th of August last year!!!

And sadly the house is a complete wreck We badly needed new carpeting, so got nearly the whole house done at once. Which means just about every room's been torn apart -- I never realized how much junk we had! I guess when you live someplace for 15 years you just accumulate things... *sigh* Oh well, I better get to it. Things aren't putting themselves away. Oh where's Mary Poppins when I need her!? dcdeb

Wendi, yours must have been adorable at that size, mine were both big bruisers but as you say Deb, they are lovely even if they are big aren't they....just something really special about a new baby:mf_lustslow: Wendi, are you going for Vicky's title of yummy pic poster or are you just filling in for her whilst she is having a RL? Very, very yummy indeed! I had a very odd dream last night where Mika made a brief apperance but anything is better than nothing!

RAK1
Afternoon all! I feel like banging my head against the wall! For the second time, while writing the Glasgow blog, it disappeared on me. It's getting very frustrating:blink: . I think I'll have to split it in two, it does seem to ramble a bit.
dcdeb
Hi Wendy! Hi Happi! If you're still here. Taking a little break for lunch. Progress is slow... Well - here is a little something to help the work pass a bit quicker!! Take lots of breaks - and relax!!! Oh that definitely helps! Deb, good luck with getting the house sorted...every room! We don't have carpets here so I don't need to worry....we just have straw down but I do have to change it regularly:naughty: (Actually we have tiles...they were here when we moved in.....very nice in the Med...but Scotland? ) Straw! Trust you! Tile is nice -- low maintenance, I think. We have ceramic tile in the kitchen and I like it, but not sure I'd want it everywhere in the house. We had the four bedrooms upstairs done, the stairs, then the stairs down to the basement, which is finished and what we call the rec room, where our son hangs out. So all of that recarpeted -- it badly needed it. This house is about 25 years old (we've been here 15) and most of that was the original carpeting! We also had the carpeting ripped out of the dining room and had a hardwood floor installed. So as you can imagine, everything has been moved all around. And before I put things away, I'm trying to sort out the junk, and stuff for eBay, and some things can probably go to charity/the church... Meanwhile, hubby has decided today is the day to play in his garden. He's out there rototilling and moving topsoil... so the indoor stuff is all down to me. Well, better have a quick drink (just water! other stuff later! ) and get back to it! dcdeb
Wendi
Hiya Rose - its frustrating when that happens!! I posted my reports in here - in 6 posts - then copied and pasted them all over to myspace!!! Wow - thats a big job Deb!! There is no way I could get that done - I would have to hire a separate house to move my junk/priceless antiques to!! And as for hubby doing up the garden............... RAK1
Hey Deb, so your recarpeting your house? That's a lot of work, no wonder you need a break. I'm just waiting for Dr Who to come on:wink2:

mamacatt
Hello All Oldlings About and Not! Couldn't stay away - see I have lots to catch up on reading *puts aside paperback novel for a while* as you all have been busy chatting up a storm:naughty: surgery went well yesterday on my knee, but today I have the body aches - you know that feeling, like a truck has driven over you, or maybe they dropped you on the floor in the OR or something... I think it's the anaesthetic - sometimes it causes muscle pain...so on with the painkillers and such! Have to mention that you guys couldn't have been far from my subconscious yesterday. As I was coming out of the anaesthetic, I heard that alarming sort of roar you hear and the nurses' voices cutting in and out, and, for some reason, MFC'er's names were in my head. In fact, I think my first words could have been "VickyLovesMika"! Since I didn't have my specs on and I am nearsighted, I can't say whether the nurses had a funny look on their faces or not. Guess I am officially MFC addicted, eh?!
