The Cure

The Cure. I'm not even close to being an obsessed fan. But I really do enjoy some of their songs. And it's 80s music - I'll never escape that rut.

I went to their concert in Rotterdam last month (18 March). Several people had 'warned' me for a 3 hour show - it turned out to be 3 hours and 15 minutes. :naughty:

Man, they still rock after all those years! :punk:

We were 2nd row on Porl's corner of the stage, fascinated by his transparent shirt :naughty: and his beautiful guitar :wub2: while my friend (fan from an early age, she was born in the 80's :naughty: ) couldn't take her eyes off his high heels. :naughty:

I don't have pics of the show though, I forgot to bring my camera, didn't expect to end up at such a good spot.

LOOOOVE THEM. :wub2:

Ditto! :wub2:

I've never seen them live, but think Robert Smith is amazing! I'm such an

'80s girl, just like Suzy :wink2:

I think Blue just went to see them, didn't she? Amsterdam, maybe? Oh Blue?!

Come and tell us how they were...

I haven't seen them live either (still regret not going last month) but I just absolutely adore them.

I love the 80s, I was born in them :naughty: (sadly not a bit earlier).

That is great! I am sure you will have a fantastic night out! :punk:

It's so cool actually how we found gig buddies on MFC, and not just for the Mika gigs! :thumb_yello:

MFC'ers from all over Europe meet up in the UK for Palladium, the German girls join each other to see The Kooks, the Dutchies are planning to see Alphabeat, Diana and I are going to a Chris Chameleon gig in the Dutch Outback :naughty:, I know there's a bunch of MFC'ers who went to see Ross Copperman in London and in the US MFC'ers get together to see The Cure! :punk:

Oh really! So she has found her way to North America yet! Mikas support bands are doing a good job! :glasses3:

Palladium have not even made it outside the UK yet  although they played at (indoor) festivals in the Netherlands and Austria.

And while I am writing this Sara Bareilles starts singing 'Love Song' on 3FM. The 3rd coincidence today. :naughty:

Yelle was here a few months ago as well so it's at least her second time playing in Canada. I think Quebecers are very much hooked into the French music scene which is why Mika is exceptionally popular there.

My favourite band of all time. (Sorry Mika! :bleh:)

Although i wasn't alive in the 80s, i was bought up on their music on account of my parents being obsessed fans themselves. Their music just has something that other bands can never seem to capture or copy - i can't describe it. :wub2:

:roftl: I think you hit a nerve with Greta! I have much of their early

work. Now that I think of it, I guess I've been a pretty big fan

for a while... They're always either on the CD player at home or in the car.

:)

 So lucky! I didn't know! Enjoy! And we'll expect a full report!

I guess someone should have started this thread sooner!

That IS really, cool actually. Just goes to show that not all internet

people are sexual deviants and axe murderers (which my mother

used to and still believes!) :naughty:

I was a big fan of The Cure in the 80s, I went to see them in concert in Madrid in 1989, it was unbelievable...they did a nearly-3 hour-long set!!

My favourite song of theirs is A Forest; I also love Close To Me, Just Like Heaven, Six Different Ways, etc etc, ....but I am most definitely not a fan of Lovecats :sneaky2::naughty:

Lovecats is to Cure what come On Eileen is to Dexys :naughty:

oHHHHHH come on Eileen is great!!!!!

:roftl: Yes it is actually, but what I meant was, it's the song that always gets played at weddings etc..like Lovecats...because the DJ doesn't know any other songs of theirs and it always gets people up dancing etc. When 'proper fans' just cringe a bit........

Maybe that is the fate of Grace Kelly too....:boxed::naughty:
