Wendi
Hi Wendi! OMG...what are you doing here this time of night? It's nice seeing a familiar face right now. How are you? I am ok thanks Charlotte! How are you feeling now - how is the sinusitis?
charlottechristy
I'm slowly getting a little better. I finished all the steriods and antibiotics and saw the Specialist today. He basically told me I wasn't going to die and he gave me pain pills. Um, yeah...I knew that. Not sure if I like this Specialist. He had "Who's Who" certificates all over his office which tells me that he is very ego driven and will pay whatever amount to get into these publications. A little turned off by that. What in the world are you doing up? I am ok thanks Charlotte! How are you feeling now - how is thesinusitis?

charlottechristy
I still haven't heard "officially" if I have the time off. They haven't let me know anything. I'm so sorry to hear about your family problems. I hope it isn't anything too serious. Yes, I agree....sometimes life just sucks. Should be the Oldling motto this year. chickadee
Lonely, quiet place the Oldlings - during the night!! That's cos there's only a few of us Oldlings that are awake at this time of day on this side of the world and I don't expect anybody else to be on here! So greetings Wendi and Hi Charlotte! I was just reading a thread where one of the Younglings wants to kill herself... so things are not necessarily easier for them either. Maybe it's just that this year sucks, period? charlottechristy
Thanks, it still upsets me that I was up all night crying not knowing where my Father was. I told my Dad to give that hospital a piece of his mind. He said it wouldn't do any good...you know how small towns are. Anyways, I'm just glad that I'm in contact with my Father again. He's only 58! Way too young to be going through this crap. I forgot to say I was sorry about the hassle you had at the weekend.Imagine the hospital saying they didnt have your dad there!!! Not good!!! chickadee
So Charlotte, what's the story with your Dad? I can believe the hospital didn't tell you he wasn't there actually... It's happened to me when my sister in law was in hospital up in Sydney and was going to be travelling back to Canberra by herself after surgery. Well, actually she was no longer in hospital, cos she'd been discharged a few hours earlier, but they had no record of her having been there! It was all to do with the fact that the paperwork and the data entry were not in sync, but the clerk I spoke to who sorted it out for me was quite miffed with the previous shift. Edit: whoops. you must have posted while i was typing
charlottechristy
Hey Chickadee! How are you? Yikes....doesn't sound like good news for the younglings either. What in the world is going on this year? Last year was brilliant....I don't like change. I read that girls post - but feel totally unable to say anything right now - and she is getting lots of support from her peer group, which is lovely to see, and makes more sense to her probably, than me rabbiting on!! Hiya Chickadee!! Thanks, it still upsets me that I was up all night crying not knowing where my Father was. I told my Dad to give that hospital a piece of his mind. charlottechristy
Yeah, sometimes I just think it's lazy people not wanting to look things up. If only they knew what havoc they were creating by not doing things correctly. It's scary not knowing where your family is! So Charlotte, what's the story with your Dad? Last year was brilliant....I don't like change. I'm reasonable. In good health thankfully. We had to move house earlier in the year which sucked (I didn't want to leave that house, but the new owners wanted to live in it, not rent it out again to us), but I'm getting used to the new smaller place. But apart from that, I can't complain. But if you didn't have change, then this year could continue on forever as a bad life instead of a bad year! So here's to 2009? charlottechristy
No, we talk almost everyday and he pretty much always answers his phone. When he didn't answer last night, it really concerned me and then, when I got home and had urgent messages, I knew something was up. It was a frightening evening. And, to make things worse, I had just asked my Mum, "Mum, could things possibly be any worse right now?" I guess the answer to that was yes. UGH!!! Had you been out of touch for a while? He IS young - thats only 10 years older than me!!!

charlottechristy
Not to wish my life away but, I'm looking forward to 2009. LOL!! Anyways, should have a new Mika CD by then too. I'm going to get off here too. Good night Wendi! Hope everything turns out well with the family issues. Goodnight Chickadee. See you later. I'm reasonable. In good health thankfully. And maybe we have a different capacity to cope with problems that comes with life experience and (relative) autonomy. I too said nothing, I'm already involved in a different thread with someone else who's suicidal and as you said, there's lots of help there for her already. I can't believe that the hospital didn't tell you he was there:shocked: Sorry to hear about the Younglings problems - we all have problems at all ages, they just take on a different perspective with age. I hope the Youngling concerned is benefitting from the support of his/her peers. Anyway, must dash - hope to be back later:thumb_yello:
