I threatened him saying they would be there any minute via helicopter but you guys never showed up :sneaky2:

If we didn't have to save for gigs abroad we would have been there like a shot, just like the A Team:naughty:

:naughty: Either that or someone he knows noticed it was down and let him know. We didn't contact him and it seems his management hadn't informed him there was a problem.

Heads should roll!:bleh:

I am actually glad at the way it all went, becuase it meant that Mika himself noticed what state things were in, instead of it all being kept from him...:naughty:

At the end of the day, it IS his fanclub, and he should be kept informed of big issues like these. It's not Jerry's or anyone's face in the line if the site has problems, as it's not their fansite.

It's Mika's reputation and face on the line hereso I think that it's only fair that he knows what goes on in reality.

random guy: Oh, he's gay.

me: Yeah well...he has a fanclub and you don't!

random guy: I have a fanclub *looks at best friend expectantly*

me: No, you dont have over 300 fangirls (not to mention fanboys) acknowledging your body hair and the colour of your underwear!

random guy: AT least I'm not gay!

me: STOP SAYING THAT THEY CAN HEAR YOU!

random guy: Who can?

me: *whispers* The fanclubbers..

stop trying to copy my scripts :mf_rosetinted:

Mika took it upon himself to get in touch with us through the MFC MySpace account when he realized the site was down. He wrote the statement that's been posted after a few exchanges with Deb that included some information that all the mods and admin agreed Mika should be made aware of.

That's incredible! Mika is SUCH an amazing man!

I agree! I think it should be Mika to tell us about our officialdom...and not Jerry...it's been, what, nearly 4 months now?

I like the idea of a new enhanced MFC, but at the same time I don't.

I love it the way it is now :wub2:

I wouldn't like too many new gadgets or thinga ma bobbers...

I won't mind changes as long as the forums still work the way they do now. These forums are so easy to use, and so intuitive. Hanson.net changed the way their forums look and how you post, and it's so confusing and horrible looking that I never post there anymore. I'm here instead. :wink2:

He just noticed we were down because he missed his nightly puruse of the MFC. :naughty:

Awwww... everyone's gone all marshmallowy, sweet and gooey -- even

my dear bab. :wub2: I feel like I just want to add my 2p.

This forum has become something amazing... but not just because of

Mika or the mods... it's because of the individuals who contribute here.

We may have 10,000+ members on record, but the active core group

is far fewer -- and those of us who are here every day have certainly

formed a special bond. I know that even though I may not have a

lot of interaction with certain members -- say for example Ingie --

if there's a day when I don't see her name on the Who's Online list,

I wonder about her and hope she'll be back soon. What I'm trying to

say is, we've all grown to care about each other -- we're not

virtual strangers; we have become virtual friends. :wink2:

And that's a very special thing, in this day and age, in particular.

I noticed in the chatroom last night, there were girls from all over, and

they were marveling at how they could be talking to someone from

somewhere else -- anywhere else -- in the world, and still find things

in common with them, and have an enjoyable time talking with them.

How cool is that? I've said it before, and I'll say it again -- there is

a certain "We are the World" aspect to this place, and I wish the rest

of the world could take a lesson from how we all get along (most of

the time :naughty: ) and resolve differences and band together to

get things done.

OK, heading into CareBear mode, so I'll just close by saying this: I'm so

glad that I've gotten to know you all, whether it's just cyber-ly or

whether I've been lucky enough to meet you IRL (and I am *so* glad

I made the effort to go to Glasgow and NYC and had the chance to

meet even more MFC'ers than I would have otherwise!). I love being

a part of this forum.

Thanks again to StandardToaster and lollipop_monkey (Andrew and Mana),

our Dream Team, who were integral to getting things going again, to

Christine for the brilliant chatroom, and to

FREDDIESDOUBLE and all my fellow mods who are ever-ready to provide

moral or whatever kind of support is needed -- you all rock!

Now, back to the business of the forum -- before this gets to sounding

any more like a sappy awards acceptance speech :naughty:

Awww, well said, Deb!

This definitely is a unique forum. People seem to care, which I find unbelievable sometimes, because I've been on forums were people don't even read what anyone else says. They just care about their post count, and spamming the forums.

MFC is different, and I love that. I wish I could post more, and get to know everyone more, but...*sigh*...darn real life. Still, I'm glad to be a member of the MFC. :naughty:

Hooray for StandardToaster and his partner in crime lollipop_monkey, who've gone to extraordinary lengths to keep this site running, not just today, but for many months.

And thank you Mika for getting in touch. We couldn't be more pleased. :kaf:

Deb that is really nice - there are lots of nice things that have been said in this thread today & there are so many that i could quote!! :thumb_yello: & without going all mushy on you all - it has been lovely to read :blush-anim-cl:

I've not been around long only since the end of Nov'07 & without going into it the MFC has helped me no end, it really has :thumb_yello: i'm just so glad that i found the MFC as i now rely on my daily dose of MFC to keep me sane :wink2: well i have already thanked all involved today in this thread but i will say again it again 'thank you' :thumb_yello:

wasn't really being that sarcastic, it's very nice to know that we have some admins, mods and tech geeks willing to work their butts off to get us back online :wub2: And I'm kinda drunk, so I'm also quite pleased to see how much Mika cares :wub2::bleh:

yep Kata it's the "quite" in the sentence that speaks volumes :naughty::wink2:
