They opened it and had a look... then put little bits of paper in there... My grandmother sent me an advent calendar last Christmas...it arrived here in February (she sent it in November) and when I opened it there were Australian Quarantine pamphlets in there...the weird thing is, the package was sent from England to Canada hmm yeah, you should stop doing that! waffles are from Belgium btw! well, I know Turkish delight (which kinda sounds like it comes from Turkey ), I ate that as a kid! I often see Turkish people eat that on a biscuit I'd love to try that! I know Baklava (it's from Turkey right? I'm always afraid to mix cultures.. ), but I never ate it though... DarkLight Posted October 24, 2008 Share Posted October 24, 2008 (edited) My 1st Mika mail from tanya k arrived today for my birthday (how cool is that:thumb_yello:) I have taken some photos but my camera (which is rechargeable) conked out so i'll have to recharge it for a few hours then take pics of the rest of the stuff i didn't get to photograph & then I'll post the pics here:thumb_yello: tanya has just pm'd me saying her mum called her to say a parcel has arrived for her at the post office & hopefully it's her mika mail (fingers crossed) she's was on her break but just had to pm me to tell me *anticipates finding out if it was my mm parcel she recieved* I've so far gotten quite a few things for the 2nd round of mika mail i'm doing with lucrezia & I have to say i'm loving taking part and I'd be more than happy to do a 3rd round if someone else wants to partner up with me for mm I can start on the 3rd package in about 2 weeks edited: I was wondering if lindemfc would like to be my 3rd mm partner? Here's what I got: A lei A blow up hand (it's the colours of the Dutch flag) A toy flower (my niece will love that I'm sure) Hitkrant magazine (ft a quiz about Mika - I'll have fun trying to translate it!) Shoe decorations A sticker Some money (a 1 Euro coin, and a 20 cent, 5 cent and2 cent coin) A little toy chicken Mini toasts with sprinkles (I'm going by the pictures on the box) A little shield thing that says Amsterdam Lots of lollipops A flashing light sticker that you put on your phone A teddy bear flashing light thing... it goes on your phone too... A little figurine of a boy and girl kissing and it says Holland Two bottles of alcohol A packet of lollis... they look like bricks (I'm going by the little cartoon on the front!)... it says: Ouderen horen ook daarbij schuimblokken (would it be safe to assume that blokken means block?)... Something that looks like a cake... it says Gezond Lekkere Ontbijtkoek (I assume that will give me enough information to know what it is?) A long stick thing that looks edible (De grote oosterhoutse kaneelstok) - my guess is gingerbread but I'm probably wrong... Glowsticks Chocolates (I know chocolates when I see them!) Lollies that smell like licorice... Other hard lollies (says boterwafeltjes - they look like waffles) A dummy/pacifier lolly Coffee flavoured lollies (I know what these are cause it says coffee on the packet!) A little key charm sort of thing... He's a little boy... Lolly bracelets Mini waffles (it says stroopwafels) Oldtimers lollies (it says de echte stavorense stoofpeertjies drop)... Dutch spiced cookies (I know what these are cause they sell them at work! Never tried them though) A flashing rose (you wear it around your wrist) Sponge fingers (they sell these at work too..) A flashing heart a keyring that says Roermond (it's going straight on my keyring with the ones from musicfreak) Now for pics! The parcel (I blocked out mine and Biekje's addresses) The picture she drew (I'm gonna put it on my wall with my pics!): My whole parcel: ooh that looks great & wow you've got a flashing heart I'd love one of those!!
