Do you think he'll wait till Friday? :naughty: I can't wait... I'm so anxious!!

I wish we had the first clue:naughty: No one ever really knows what Mika is going to do until he does it:roftl: Let's hope it is not too long:thumb_yello:

I wonder if it's going to be totally Mika's creation or if the record company will have some say over it.I do hope not. I am beginning to really dislike Universal after they have been deleting all of these videos on youtube. They are starting to look really mean and grasping to me. Totally un-Mika IMHO.

I'm pretty sure all the legal disclaimers and such from the first incarnation of Mikasounds were all on the main Universal site. So I would assume, then, that Universal will have some say over what is and isn't on it. But I'd be surprised if Mika doesn't maintain as much control as he can, especially in terms of how it looks visually/artistically.

Oh yes that of course. Why would he buy MFC otherwise, if not to integrate it somehow? Not sure how he will do that, but hey, I'm sure that something will be done.

He's not going to have 2 separate sites for "his" site and then the fanclub, so it makes sense that he puts them together. Not quite sure how :naughty:.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a crystal ball into Mika's head? :roftl:

See, here's what I'm wondering. After that Perez fiasco about the LA gigs, I'm thinking Mika is acutely aware that there's a subtle rivalry between MFC and the old Mikasounds forum. So I wonder if, to keep the peace, New Mikasounds might even have its own forum? That would also serve to distance MFC from the Mikasounds site, which could actually be a little bit of a blessing if, as Bab was wondering, Universal actually has control over the Mikasounds site.

Oh well, I suppose we'll figure it all out whenever "next week" happens to get here. :naughty:

Maybe we (the forum?) will be linked to the website..

I really hope so. I think that would be huge in terms of formal recognition of MFC as the faaaabulous community it is. :naughty:

I suppose that the MFC is more than the bricks and mortar of the forum, it's the community that each and every one of us has built up here, don't you think?

Yes! MFC is more than 1's and 0's on a porn server in Estonia. :roftl:

It really is a community, and a damn good one at that. :wub2:

i can live with that too:mf_rosetinted:

Yeah this would be great! I just hope there won't be any major changes to the forum.

change is good! as long as we're all together and have a place to chat/discuss i don't mind changes.

Well, things can change (of course) but that night that Rose and I chatted to Mika for a while at the Yelle gig last year, we discussed the whole MFC thing quite extensively and he was very very adamant that he didn't want to interfere with MFC at all.

He didn't even want to moderate in a way, or try to "push" things in any direction. He said that he was happy that this had been made by us, that it was well mantained by us, and that he didn't want to be intrusive and start dictating how we should run it. So, unless things have changed a lot in his mind (which I doubt) it looks like they will let MFC "be" quite freely.

that would be very nice of him.

Yeah, you see people will choose which forum they want to go to and for me I would choose a lively buzzing forum, full of personalities, discussion and committed fans over anything else. That's all I'm saying :naughty:

i'm hoping to see andy's vids too!

didnt know that you had talked so extensively about the mfc! it's really nice to hear that he's happy with the way things are here and that there wont be any major changes. thats very positive! after all even when it gets crazy the mfc is a community that we all know and love and we dont want to see any dramatic changes in it.

That's the thing, so much more than just a forum or discussion board. You can't just make a community. It's an organic thing, it grows and changes over time and is built on layers.

A wise decision indeed:naughty:

Yes, I do think the colour will probably change. As you say Bab....we could well be a 'menu choice' but if so I think the colour scheme will probably link in with the rest of the site. I would miss the yucky brown as it has been part of my life for so long but I am sure that I could learn to live with a change:thumb_yello:

We could well be, bit IMHO we should be!

I've never noticed the same sense of community happening on official artist/record company sites. I think the community needs autonomy from Big Brother and fans having a vested interest in its operation in order to thrive.

Yes, I see what you mean. It's like the difference between us and Mikasounds.

So really Mika's website can do what they like, a menu link would be great, deserved and only right IMO, but whatever it looks like on this new website it can't change what we have already built up.

With the exception of one site I go to (which is owned by a band member's brother *points to sig*), I agree that official sites generally don't have the same community feel...

I'm not too concerned as to what it looks like, I only have two things I want to bring up...

1. They don't delete our post counts (I would cry if they did cause it took foever to get my count this high!)

2. The site doesn't crash...

Yes I think Mika should post a link to MFC on his new site.

Yes, I totally agree. I think that is what has made MFC so successful.
