It's pollution to all the people who come here just to read about the thread topic itself.. An apology was put forward by Freddie. He's acknowledged that what he said was harsh. What bothers me is that M-Th took that as a platform, yet again, to make snide remarks. There's too much tolerance on MFC of certain members accusing the mods and admins. I appreciate what our MFC team does for our fan club and Forum. And, if you really think about it, the only people who ever seem to have a problem with what goes on behind the scenes are the actual trouble makers themselves. We were just getting back on track, FFS. I'm sorry, I'm going to have to derail the thread yet again -- despite your marvelous scooter pic, Kelz I agree with you that the mod/admin team has been more than tolerant in this particular situation. Despite what some may believe we do try to be fair, and we don't ever want to ban anyone. In fact, we don't even like to hand out infractions, and in that respect we have definitely been remiss -- there have been some very obvious infractions of the MFC guidelines committed and we have failed to take the appropriate action. However, we've reached the point where we have to act, especially since we are getting numerous messages from the general MFC membership. Earlier this week in this thread, FREDDIESDOUBLE responded to something that Marie-Therese (posting under the account of marie-andrée de rougemont) said. His response was somewhat harsh and inappropriate, but he felt provoked due to other posts she had made to and about him in recent days. Still, two wrongs don't make a right, and so he apologized to her. Let me stress for the record that FD did NOT receive any message or reprimand from Mika or any of his "collaborators." He made this apology voluntarily after discussing the situation with the rest of the mod/admin team. I think it takes a big person to admit a mistake so publicly, and I really admire him for taking that step. As others have noted, though, this apology was not accepted graciously -- there was no attempt at a truce, nor an effort to move on. Instead, Marie-Therese took the opportunity to make even more snide remarks and take underhanded swipes at FD. This sort of disruptive behavior cannot continue -- we just can't turn a blind eye forever. While we ordinarily would require three infractions before we thought about banning, we are in this case motivated to ban the account of marie-andrée de rougemont (from which her daughter Marie-Therese posts) now. The account does have one infraction against it, and Marie-Therese has had repeated run-ins with many MFC members over the past year or so. As a result we are banning the account of marie-andrée de rougemont for an unspecified amount of time. If anyone has any comments or concerns about this ban, please direct them to me via PM, as we don't wish to clutter this thread with any more off-topic debates. Thanks!
