I really can't afford it ... unless I get a ticket ... Blackpool is so far away from where I live ... and I'd have to come up on the Friday anyway ... as the coaches are the cheapest option but take so long :(

Keeping my fingers crossed I win - otherwise for once ... I won't be being silly and booking it anyway :( If it was closer maybe .... but :tears:

Mika latest name for Blackpool Illuminations weekend

visitBlackpool's unveiled pop sensation Mika as the latest addition to an amazing celebrity weekend on 4th and 5th September to help launch this year’s world famous Blackpool Illuminations, which will shine until 8 November.

Just a day after one-time Blackpool resident , comedian Alan Carr flicks the famous switch, a star-studded concert will take place at the resort’s legendary Empress Ballroom on Saturday, 5th September.

Presented by Kate Thornton, it will feature Mika along with a host of other stars.

Details of performers are being announced each day this week when the ticket giveaway for this event will be open.

It is part of a major, new first for the resort, the ‘Big Switch-On Weekend’.

And Blackpool will also play host to an exciting programme of blockbusting, free events. It all adds up to what promises to be Blackpool’s biggest ever Switch-On weekend.

On the Friday funnyman Alan will be joined by chart-topping X Factor finalists JLS, one of the UK's great bands Madness, Paloma Faith, pop princess Pixie Lott and Tony Christie, who will perform in celebration of the Switch-On ceremony.

Blackpool has also organised a whole host of major, free events. Highlights will include the World Fireworks Championships, the unveiling of St John’s a spectacular, new public piazza right in the heart of the resort, and two days of world-class beach volleyball tournaments.

THE first two of five acts have been announced for the Radio 2 Live in Blackpool concert at the Empress Ballroom during the resort's Big Switch-On Weekend.

Pixie Lott, fresh from her appearance on the Friday night Illuminations Switch-On concert on September 4, will be performing again as part of the free show in the Winter Gardens the following night.

The announcement was made this morning by Zoe Ball, currently presenting the Ken Bruce Show on Radio 2.

Yesterday afternoon, DJ Steve Wright revealed that Mika, who topped the charts two years ago with his single Grace Kelly, would also be on the bill.

A BBC Radio 2 spokeswoman said a different act would be announced each day until Friday on various programmes.

The concert forms part of a two- day Radio 2 Live in Blackpool extravaganza, arranged around the Switch-On by cult comic Alan Carr, who will also present his own Saturday night early evening show live from a Blackpool tram.

I'm not gonna win this time ... I'm not ever lucky ... and certainly can't be lucky twice :aah:

Completely impossible :(

Then ask your lover to be a wee little bit unfaithful, just the once :wink2: : 'Lucky in games, unlucky in love', is there such a saying in English :dunno: ?

Cheers,

Id3
