nico_collard
you train your patience, don't you? I try! I thought I was really patient before, but the more I look at the gig photos and reports the more I want to get on a plane and fly over for a gig Flying to Europe isn't a good idea because I have no money (stupid employers who think I have problems cause of the strokes.. )
mellody
Oh and just to summarise videos so far, (We Are Golden is still uploading and I don't think Toy Boy will get done before we leave so I'll set it up when I go to the hotel at 3). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYWWLIRrBfM - Any Other World http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qgrh6D4_GXs - Beginning & Rain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRX75wo3VJ4 - Big Girl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDZ8x0LZzP4 - Blue Eyes & Touches You http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vITgkNcup-M - Dr John http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6ugwiSs5BY - I See You And the setlist and my ticket: hmm, didnt someone say that the setlist would be different for every gig? maybe they meant the stage set, because the setlist is the same like in dublin. Laurel
Texted Kath, and she highly recommends putting yourself forward for the BG or LG parts, so I decided I'll do it in Birmingham now, as I have something planned for Bristol. Right .. I shall definitely try at Birmingham too ... I was angling towards Birmingham anyway ... cos' Glasgow's my first one ... and Newcastle is the home of the bouncy floor ... and I want to experience that and Freddie might be a Big Girl so I need to film that too

Shari
Mika at o2 Academy, Sheffield UK. 18th Feb 2010 Part 1. OMFG, With Mika's LICM show, I didn't think he could really top that. But boy did he rock that place last night. We queued for 3 hours in the bitterly cold weather. Chatted to some of the crowd near us, none of which I knew but they were all very nice people. I spotted sparlky1 right at the front (1st in queue sat on her beach chair) then Kath passed us and said hello. I also met VickyLovesMika too. What a lovely person she is. It was good to finally meet you Vicky. ;o) The queue were moved by security a couple of times - for what reason I do not know, but worried that I wouldn't not get front row, was unnecessary. I stood behind an 8 year old girl and her mom. I could see the whole expanse of the stage. I was HAPPY. Erik Hassle was very good, it has to be said. His set was concise and very listenable. They had a good sound and was perfect support for Mika. Whilst setting up the stage for Mika's show, one of the guys in "prison gear" fell off the stage right and nearly took the confetti tube and speakers with him! He was down there for ages and we were starting to be concerned that he had broken a limb! Finally he got back on stage to a rapturous cheer and disappeared behind the curtain so as not to show his embarrassment! I think he may have been one of the sound/lighting guys because almost as soon as he'd sat down on the left of the stage, the music started and the show began. Lights off, huge roar from the audience as we waited with bated breath. A solitary desk and chair which had been placed on stage for us all to ponder. A single spotlight highlighted this until and overgrown schoolboy appeared, scribbling in an exercise book - to which was depicted on the back drop of the set. Scribbling and scrawling ,he drew a tree, an apple and blackness as his frustration accumulated then eventually leading to an animated sketch of Mika's face. It was entrhralling watching it unfold. All this was being narrated over, with a sweet French song to follow. The curtains went back and the crowd erupted into excited??? The band got themselves positioned and awaited Mika. He appeared dressed in skinny black jeans, a crisp white shirt and fancy waistcoat with long coat tails at the back. A stylish top has and designer stubble. A small suitcasein hand, head down and looking ever the shiny star he has become to the beginning chords of "Rain". At this point I thought he was going to go into Marcel Marceau mime act with the suitcase, but instead he placed it on the floor, with back facing the audience he went into a few delightful bum wiggles as the brightest spotlights exploded his prescence and he went into the rest of Rain remixed. An epic start to a brilliantly live and thoroughly entertaining show. Mika looked VERY happy. End of part 1.
Jazzy
Wow, back to back gigs...you'll all be as knackered as Mika and the band Yeah, and i've got lectures and assignment deadlines in between. Oh dear! Worth it though. hmm, didnt someone say that the setlist would be different for every gig? maybe they meant the stage set, because the setlist is the same like in dublin. He might change it after he gets settled a bit more.
