Ok, here's the update about the van thing:

I didn't receive any PMs from people interested to rent a van (except the names I've already posted few time ago) so I've searched for a smaller one. The estimations I've received are high and I've only found 2 options for van with 8 seats and the price is 130€ for 1 person.

 

The list of people that will rent the van all together is:

 

1) Sarina

8) valerria

 

 

Those people confirmed that they'll come or they'll pay theirs part in case of any problem.

 

So, the van isn't booked yet, but I'm asking informations about renting and I would like to do it as soon as possible to be sure too have it.

Also, maybe we can pay directly there on 6th, but I need a confirmation about that.

 

 

The van will pick us at the Ippodromo and bring us straight to Villa Manin during the night.

 

 

I will update the thread and I will contact each of you when I'll have more informations about payment, booking and stuff like that!

LAST CALL FOR A SEAT in the van from Rome to Udine

 

I've received 3 other requests for the van so I'm trying to see if I can reach 14 people to rent a bigger van. I have only FEW days to do that, I want to rent it in May because in the summer there are less options and the prices are higher.

 

 

PLEASE PM ME NOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED TO HAVE A CERTAIN SEAT IN THE VAN.

 

These are the conditions:

 

1) I only accept people who are REALLY interested to have a certain seat in the van. For "interested" I mean people that are SURE to pay the van under any circumstances, that means: you still have to pay your part in case you can't come and you can't find a substitute. That because if you save a seat but you don't pay your part, EVERYONE will lose the opportunity to rent the van because of you and...I cannot allow that.

 

2) As I said I'm planning to rent it soon, so each payment should be sent together with others before the rent date. For italian people payments are via Postepay. For people outside Italy the best way is via paypal (plus fees because I have a premier account) or via bank transfer. The price should be 130 € each not more.

 

 

 

If you agree with that, please, send me a PM and if we'll reach 14 people in total, I can put you in the "sure" list.

This means that I'll try to find a bigger van in the next few days and, if I'll receive more requestes, you'll have a seat FOR SURE!

someone (who maybe attended to this festival in the past) can tell us where is exactly the entrance?

Ippodromo is big :aah:

Is the stage in the racecourse North or in the racecourse south?

 

In festival website i did not find a detailed map.

if you've got feet strong enough...it's about 9 km!

There's only one entrance to "Rock in Roma", you won't be wrong when you'll arrive there.

 

Anyway, I'll try to post more informations about the venue next days but isn't so difficult to reach and it's very simple to find it.

 

That's good that there is only one entrance! :)

Here's the English of the info provided by MrsBrightside about getting to the venue.

 

The easiest option's the taxi: Ciampino's much closer than Rome Termini to the Ippodromo, about 10 minutes away. It should cost more or less 15 euro.

 

The Capannelle train station's about a kilometre away from the Ippodromo - a long way to walk in the July sun! The trains that go to Ciampino from Termini are the regional trains to Albano, Frascati, Velletri e Cassino.

 

For those coming by car:

 

"The Ippodromo is situated near the junction between via delle Capannelle and via Appia Nuova (State Road [strada Statale] 7). It can be reached from exit 23 (Appia, direction of Rome city centre) of the Grande Raccordo Anulare. In the summer the many concerts are held there. Depending on the number of people expected there can either be a small stage near the entrance, or a larger one on the track.

 

Outside the venue there is a car park, where you pay a fixed price to park. The places are standing, but at the side of the large stage there are also seats. At the side of the small stage there are bars and restaurants, and it's possible to watch the concert whilst eating and drinking.

 

In general the acoustics are good near the stage, but they get worse the further away you are.

There's a fixed price of 30 Euro to/from Ciampino Airport.

Train

The nearest train station is Ciampino Città, a 15 minute journey from Rome Termini. Every 30 minutes a COTRAL/SCHIAFFINI bus leaves, if there isn't much traffic you can get to the airport in 5 minutes. The ticket costs 1 euro and you can buy them on before boarding and also on the bus.

 

Coaches

Terravision coaches serve the airport, it costs 4 euro one way, and 8 euro return from Termini station. You can buy the tickets in Termini station - in Via Marsala no. 29 F/G (you'll need to show your RyanAir ticket), and also at the Terravision office at the airport. The journey lasts 40 minutes, which doesn't include the 45 minutes you sometimes have to wait when travelling from Rome to Ciampino, as the bus won't leave until it's full.

SIT Shuttle has a fixed timetable, and it also costs 4 euro (including luggage), but the buses leave less frequently (especially early morning).

COTRAL/SCHIAFFINI also serve Ciampino airport, but the stop in Rome isn't in Via Marsala, but on the other side of Termini in Via Giolitti. The ticket costs 4.50 euro, and can be bought from on board the bus.

Ecco qua tutto quello che c'è da sapere.

La soluzione migliore è per me il taxi da Ciampino per diversi motivi: Ciampino è molto più vicina di Roma Termini all'Ippodromo, ci sono circa 10 min. di tragitto e a conti fatti, tenendo anche conto dello stress e dell'afa che già si sopporteranno prima del gig ai quali nn sarebbe il caso di aggiungervi anche quelli relativi al trasporto e al traffico, è la soluzione più conveniente. Costo: + o - 15 euro

Per chi sceglie questa soluzione ricordo che i treni regionali che da Termini fermano a Ciampino sono quelli per Albano, Frascati, Velletri e Cassino.

 

Nella stessa tratta c'è anche la fermata Capannelle, ma poi si dovrebbe fare una chilometrata sotto il sole a piedi dalla stazione all'ippodromo. Vedete un po' voi.

"L’Ippodromo delle Capannelle è situato a Roma all’altezza dell’incrocio tra via delle Capannelle e via Appia Nuova (Strada Statale 7).

Può essere raggiunto uscendo all’uscita 23 (Appia, direzione centro di Roma) del Grande Raccordo Anulare.

Nel periodo estivo è sede della manifestazione ¡Fiesta! nella quale vengono organizzati molti concerti. A seconda del pubblico previsto viene utilizzato un palco piú piccolo nelle vicinanze dell’ingresso oppure ne viene allestito uno piú grande sulla pista.

C'è da ricordare che per il ritorno il radiotaxi diventa indispensabile perchè nn ci sono mezzi fino alle 3 circa del mattino.

Per i Killers l'anno scorso lo hanno preso quasi tutti (quelli che erano a piedi, ovviamente)

 

p.s. nn sono pagata dal consorzio taxi romani, anzi, sono una categoria da me aborrita,:aah: ma in questi casi diventa una scelta obbligata, ve lo dice una che gira Roma a fette o coi mezzi pubblici.
