sienna
You're really good, guys!! I love the English lyrics Thank you! I agree! Thank you guys! it's because we forget that our children need/want to learn about life on their own, through their mistakes, like we did. Oh yes they do. Sometimes it's hard to just sit back and watch but as a parent you have to do it! I think they're both strong personalities and therefore it was difficult to make concessions, when was wish to bend under itself). They have learned to cope with this. So much so that Mom is the closest friend for Him. I adore). This so touching ... and even disturbing a little ...)Although this is only my speculation, and my imagination ... I idealise His family. Sorry When my son was a teenager we made it almost a form of art to argue:teehee: and it draw people around us crazy!

Christine
Okay, this may come as a stupid question ... But ... Is Fortuné gay? (Can I talk about this on MFC? ) Well there's not a lot to talk about since no one knows the answer to that.

Christine
The lyrics are saying it I guess Well I would not take it as a reflection of reality since it is a song after all (and it's not like Mika tells the truth about most things anyway ). His brother is quite a few years younger and I think if a mother was going to give such a lecture the roles would probably be reversed. i.e. you will end up like your older brother if you keep on like this. Blue Sky
I tend to agree with Christine on the role reversal.... These lyrics are great, Mika! And they sound just like a LOT of mothers nagging a LOT of sons. Good job all of you with such sharp ears.
sweet.pixie
I'm so used to Elle me dit in French that I didn't understand a thing of it in English the first time I heard it Well I would not take it as a reflection of reality since it is a song after all (and it's not like Mika tells the truth about most things anyway ). His brother is quite a few years younger and I think if a mother was going to give such a lecture the roles would probably be reversed. i.e. you will end up like your older brother if you keep on like this. Appart from all that. It's poetry, it should never be interpreted so literally

sweet.pixie
Based on Guy's one, I've changed some things. She tells me can't you write a happy song Get your ass to number one You could try a little harder She tells me you could be a millionaire But you're so full of hot air Gonna end up like your father She tells me you can't leave your life to chance Get a girl and learn to dance Be a boy like any other She tells me why you got so much to say Are you stuck up, (with no "or") are you gay Gonna end up like your brother She tells me, she tells me it's my life Don't get to live it twice One day you'll understand Become a better man She's pulling out her hair But says she doesn't care She doesn't make no sense Maybe I’m (make???) in French She tells me you live your life in a balloon Lock yourself up in your room So the world can never reach you She tells me whatcha smoking, what's that stench Do you speak it so in French Did you really think you had it –my mind wants to thing is says “you’re happy”, I don't hear neither that nor had it - She tells me... cause she thinks I make it so I give up it's not worth trying One day I will end up dead That's the only thing she said That would ever get me smiling She tells me you live your life in a balloon Lock yourself up in your room So the world can never reach you She tells me am I speaking Japanese Then she's falling on her knees Starts – I hear “to” here in the middle, but “start to praying” is not right...- praying to St. Peter She tells me see the price I have to pay And I give –I hear “ruined”, but doesn’t make sense with “away”...- my life away All the **** I have to get through She tells me why'd you make this hard for me It's not the way it's meant to be I don't want to have to hate you
TimyBlanco
She tells me why you got so much to say Are you stuck up, (with no "or") are you gay Gonna end up like your brother I think, you're right. With "or" the rythm isn't perfect.
Christine
She tells me am I speaking JapaneseThen she's falling on her knees Starts – I hear “to” here in the middle, but “start to praying” is not right...- praying to St. Peter I think it's "Starts her praying to St. Peter..." But he's probably improvising a little here so I am not fussed about a word here or there. It will be interesting to see how it turns out if he records it because we won't be hearing it at a gig for awhile.

suzie
I wonder if there will be an official version of English variant. What is 'official', anyway? If he records it in English we are likely to be able to transcribe it with better accuracy but not even that is guaranteed. I remember how we struggled with figuring out the words to One Foot Boy, for example.
