Christine
SO THE WORLD can ever reach you I think this has to be "can never reach" or "can't ever reach". Sounds like "can never" to me.
Lena
Starting with Christine's version of the lyrics i hear.... She tells me can't you write a happy song Get your ass to number one You could try a little harder She tells me you could be a millionaire But you're so full of hot air Gonna end up like your father She tells me THIS COULD BE YOUR lucky chance Get a girl and learn to dance Be a boy like any other She tells me why you got so much to say Are you stuck up OR are you gay Gonna end up like your brother She tells me it's my life DON'T GET TO LIVE IT TWICE One day you'll understand BECOME A better man She's pulling out her hair But says she doesn't care She doesn't make no sense IT MAY NOT BE in French She tells me you live your life in a balloon Lock yourself up in your room SO THE WORLD can Never reach you She tells me whatcha smoking, what's that stench Do you speak...French Did you really think you HAD IT I give up it's not worth trying One day I WILL end up dead That's the only thing she said THAT WOULD EVER GET ME SMILING She tells me you live your life in a balloon Lock yourself up in your room SO THE WORLD can ever reach you She tells me am I speaking Japanese Then she's falling on her knees Starts praying to St. Peter She tells me see the price I have to pay AND I GIVE my life away All the **** I have to get through She tells me why'd you make this hard for me It's not the way it's meant to be I don't want to have to hate you Who this says , mom or he? Lena
the mother Oh... Then I'm glad). I was afraid that he. It turns out that His momsong is something akin to me. She presses on son's brains with her homilies. But she loves him and wants all the best for him . Interesting, Mika Himself knows what He wrote? The song is not about pesky mother, but about mother is worrying about her son. He is the pain and concern for this mother. But he does not want to understand this and he struggles with her. Silly boy.
Sabine64
i think he's been spying on me!!! i'm pretty sure my sons would recognize me in some of those sentences I´m not a son but I recognized my mother with every line even with the part that she wouldn´t be there some day and this sentence effected me even ten years after her death. A mother's desires are not always altruistic even if she thinks they are. I don't think anyone can know what is best for you more than you do yourself, not even your mother. Not that she can't offer guidance and discipline of course, but nagging and threats often leads to rebellion more than anything else.

But you know sometimes what our parents don't like are not even mistakes. What did a #1 single and becoming a millionaire do for Amy Winehouse for instance? Lena
But you know sometimes what our parents don't like are not even mistakes. What did a #1 single and becoming a millionaire do for Amy Winehouse for instance? Yes ... On the example of Amy ... no need to go all the way yourself, not listening to own family. Not necessarily go across all the mistakes youself . Sometimes it is enough to have of someone's example in front to avoid making mistakes. I love Mika's mom. Christine
I love Mika's mom. The strongest woman of sooo wayward boy Yes me too. I think he has listened to her when it comes to the important things even if he drove her crazy sometimes. He seems to have turned out pretty good. He seems to have turned out pretty good. I think they're both strong personalities and therefore it was difficult to make concessions, when was wish to bend under itself). They have learned to cope with this. So much so that Mom is the closest friend for Him. I adore). This so touching ... and even disturbing a little ...) Although this is only my speculation, and my imagination ... I idealise His family. Sorry
