dcdeb
I´m very impressed by this film, only one little scene I don´t like where it shows this torturing thing with the metall in her face. But the rest is a very beautiful film and shows so much tenderness and makes you think " that´s the way love should be!" I am so moved by this film -- it made me cry. It's not a torture device exactly, Sabine -- I believe they are clamps to force the woman to keep her eyes open, to force her to watch the videos of her with her lover, in an attempt to cure her of her addiction to him. I think it's supposed to be a form of aversion therapy, just like they used in "A Clockwork Orange." The idea is by exposing her to those films, while somehow making her uncomfortable -- perhaps by sleep deprivation, since we see her trying to drift off -- it makes her associate what she used to love with some negative feelings, therefore she'll give him up. Obviously, the treatment fails in this case.
IngievV
All the warnings made me feel like I was about to watch some hard porn, but really, haven't we all seen boobs and a man's bare chest before?
Hippieibbie
Same here, I think I'll follow Christine's advice and just never watch it again after watching it once 'cause it bugs me that a lot of people will think that these short films are actual official music videos. But I'm happy we can finally hear/have this version of the song, adore it! Can you hear that it's the one he performed at Nibe? I like the song!! But seriously. It's the worst video he ever made, i Really dont like it

I really like the film but I still don´t like that scene because it interrupt my fluent feelings during the film ( do you know what I mean? swimming on a wave of tenderness and the boom....) I really laughed when I discovered the warning about the nudity , I love this film....
eloise.shaw
I actually think this video is really good! The way some of it fitted with the music, made me giggle quite a bit! Like that dog running with his tongue flying in the breeze! And how the girl creeped out of the building at near the end. ME LIKELY!
Poisonyoulove
Well then . . . gratuitous nudity and random torture? I feel like I should like it, but I don't. It just didn't make any sense to me, and didn't feel like it fit the music at all!
smokesignal
"This film contains some nudity and scenes that viewers may find offensive. Caution is recommended. Not suitable for under 18s." You'd think you're about to watch a dirty movie There's boobs in it, so I guess for American audiences that would be a bit shocking...
guylainem123
interesting film... i remember someone tweeting Mika the pictures of the building that said "origen" on them. so resume of the film? - lovely song:wub2: - nice story - hate the clamps - plenty kissing - they lived happily forever and ever
nas
bleurgh!! why do all these films have to be shot with filters and make me feel like i'm watching something from the 70s?? it's so overdone these days anyways...my view on this film? some parts were beautiful...some parts made me cringe - like the excessive kissing, the clamps scene...quite predictable ending...i dunno it didn't do much for me and i won't be watching it again... 2 other things - what do you suppose Jimenez meant by he hopes mika fans can imagine a broader world? is he implying we're narrow minded? did anyone else see genital hair or did the nudity warning set up my eyes for hallucinations? mellody
did anyone else see genital hair or did the nidity warning set up my eyes for hallucinations? no, you're not hallucinating. i don't like the video. the one for myh was ok, though too boring to watch it more than once, but this one i really didn't get until i read deb's explanation in this thread. and, um, i still don't like it. i love the song though. the only thing that bothers me a bit is that the "love love love" part towards the end sounds a little bit like a barking dog. but apart from that:

skiwi
I don't like the video because (once again) it's not the way I think of Mika (like the MYH vid). This kind of vid, may not be broadcasted on TV in the day time (maybe not here, but who knows...) I don't understand the balance between some commercials song and such an artistic vid... (don't know how to explain it)

(don't know how to explain it) I think it's not meant to be a music video, or to be on TV, it is just to circulate on the internet. If he'd release it as a single, I'm sure he'd do a proper video. I just don't think that's very likely given this video.

He also said "a touch of humor & fairy tail" .... i didn't get the touch of humor at all and the fairy tail was at the end when she ran back to him i guess Was it filmed on a cloudy day or is the smog that thick in Chile's cities? Christine
Remember when Mika commissioned his favourite artists to make drawings of the songs on Songs for Sorrow? This is the same idea, it's just film instead of drawings. He also used promotional videos that were not played on TV for LICM. They were cartoons instead of live action, but it's not surprising that he's moved away from cartoons now that he wants to point out to the world that he's 29 and not a kid any more. I still haven't seen this yet. Will reserve my judgement until tonight, but it's not sounding good.
tiibet
I'm so impressed i'm in tears. Seriously, these short films are something else than basic music videos, no matter how well made videos. So much thinking in one short film! It's beautiful as well MYH is more "feeling", TOOL makes me think. One of his best ideas, imo.
