I want it! 😍 And just to add to these weird coincidences that keep cropping up, a friend of mine was at Kew yesterday, of course he absolutely loved the plants, but the one thing he complained about afterwards was the quality of the pin badges in the gift shop!

emilynxlan
I just remembered this out of nowhere. When I went to see Mika the first time all those years ago (when I was 7!), I saw a bunch of people dressed up and I pointed them out across the venue. Now I think about it, that was probably a hoard of drag queens/kings and/or people dressing up as the girls in Big Girls (You Are Beautiful).
QueenBigFat
This just came up on my newsfeed. It is very disturbing: “Nine staff members of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNWRA) may have been involved in the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel, and they will be fired, the United Nations said on Monday.”

TinyLove_CJ
Looks at title of this thread... Looks at what I just read in my Mammal Encyclopedia... How about this for random? Kangaroos can develop a third vagina. You heard me, THIRD! Amongst other marsupials too!

It seems to be the week for odd animal facts. I saw a random video on insta showing how male elephants scratch their tummies. 1

TinyLove_CJ
2 hours ago, Hero said: It's triplets? No problem. "Pop!" Done... I think it would be a world record if a kangaroo ever had triplets! They tend to only give birth to one at a time. Most marsupial anatomy is quite different to other mammals. They're born with 2 vaginas (and males of the same species have a split penis). The 3rd vagina is only developed when a kangaroo gets pregnant for the first time and there it stays for the rest of their lives. Technically it's an extension of the birth canal where the foetus waits before being born. It's not actually used for mating. It allows kangaroos to have a second foetus developing in their womb at the same time. So thinking about it, kangaroos are like giant rabbits, they like having babies! Thank goodness human anatomy isn't like that! 2 hours ago, QueenBigFat said: Yay vaginas!!!!!! Said every lesbian everywhere!

Tho it sounds more like multiple birth canals. Not nearly as much fun Edited August 15 by QueenBigFat

QueenBigFat
Relatedly, tho probably more appropriate in the ldbt forum, there is a zoo that currently has two male flamingos who are trying to raise …a rock….
