And they think they are writing to Mika!!!!! It's Ok if they only put a comment under my post. But yesterday I was receiving a lot of pms and photos from a French woman. She even tried to call me!!!! She was expecting Mika coming to her town and meet her. I answered her that this is a fan account so Mika will never see her messages. And she asked me: so which one is his account? "Michael Penniman Hoolbrook" instead has many photos, but they were been all published and shared on the same day! What do you think of all this? How you can see, I'm very sought after by Mika! In reality they are probably, indeed almost certainly, those of Mika and the posts are also the original ones from Mika's Facebook, but this hypothetical "Mika Musicien" does a kind of copy and paste, puts his name on them and republishes them. For a very very long time I was unable to report Mika's fake accounts on fb any more because his official page was not in the list anymore. Recently I tried again and it worked for me because instead of making you chose the celebrity whose name is being used you now copy/paste the facebook real page/profile address. When I report a fake, when asked who they are pretending to be, if I click "celebrity" then type Mikainstagram in the text box, it doesn't show Mika's account as an option. But it used to! If I click "someone I follow" and type Mikainstagram, it recognises his account immediately. So why is insta no longer recognising his account as a celebrity? My Instagram recently changed to only two options: "pretending to be me" or "pretending to be someone else." I had the same issue with Mika before that, though, and had to report him as "someone I follow." dcdeb Posted July 24 Share Posted July 24 Also, please remember that you should send screenshots of any conversations and links to the accounts to me so I can send along to Mika's team. They do follow up on all of these and get as many fake accounts taken down as they can. Someone recently just reported one to me from Facebook -- the phony Mika was commenting on fans' comments on Mika's FB page, then trying to get them to chat on WhatsApp. After I sent screenshots to Mika's team, that fake account was quickly taken down, but unfortunately I see there are at least two others which have sprouted up in its place. I guess the best thing to do is to keep reporting them, and continue spreading the word to be on guard -- that Mika and his team will not approach fans like this through social media. 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
