holdingyourdrink
Got it @dcdeb: either the 35 USD Winter Fix Prixe menu IF we all agree, BUT no substitutes. OR the 55 USD menu where you can pick from the options listed. I eat everything on that list, but this doesn’t help you in the decision making of putting together a menu so I took the liberty to suggest a menu below. Please note: I have tried my best to include gluten free, both vegetarian and meat/fish and vegan (as far as I can see). ANTIPASTI E INSALATE Bruschetta Grilled Italian bread with fresh tomato, basil, garlic, and olive oil Caprese Capri style tomato and mozzarella salad with basil, oregano and olive oil Melanzane alla Sorrentina Baked eggplant with tomato, mozzarella, basil and parmesan cheese ENTRÉE Pappardelle San Marzano Pappardelle pasta with san marzano tomato, garlic, olive oil and basil Ravioli alla Positanese Cheese ravioli with mushrooms, sausage, peas and tomato sauce Gnocchi con Polpette Homemade potato gnocchi with veal and beef meatballs in a tomato ragu Salmone alla Griglia Grilled marinated salmon over romaine, arugula, cucumbers & pickled onions over herbed oil DOLCE Tiramisu Gigino style tiramisu Crostantina alla Crema di Limone Homemade Amalfi coast miniature lemon tart Sorbetti Misti Fruit flavor sorbet

Hero
So for me, any of these are good: ANTIPASTI E INSALATE Bruschetta Grilled Italian bread with fresh tomato, basil, garlic, and olive oil Caprese Capri style tomato and mozzarella salad with basil, oregano and olive oil Peperina Thinly sliced pear and Grana Padano cheese over arugula salad with walnuts and julienne peppers Melanzane alla Sorrentina Baked eggplant with tomato, mozzarella, basil and parmesan cheese ENTRÉE Pappardelle San Marzano Pappardelle pasta with san marzano tomato, garlic, olive oil and basil Salmone alla Griglia Grilled marinated salmon over romaine, arugula, cucumbers & pickled onions over herbed oil Salmone Agrodolce Broiled salmon with capers, pearl onions, white wine & butter served with zucchini DOLCE Budino di Pane Dolce Panettone bread pudding with rum vanilla sauce Torta di Formaggio Homemade American style cheesecake Pastiera alla Napoletana Napoli style grain and ricotta cheesecake with orange blossom essence Torta di Mandorle e Cioccolato Almond and chocolate tart with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce Crostantina alla Crema di Limone Homemade Amalfi coast miniature lemon tart Sorbet, gelati, fruits... Yeah, not much change to the desserts. EDIT - but I can also make the winter menu work, now Michelle's claimed my mushrooms. Weird formatting, sorry. You've given me some concrete guidance, I appreciate that. Michelle's suggestion only differs from what I would have come up with in a few spots, so I may make a tweak here or there after waiting to hear input from others. I hope to have this settled by this Friday, which is March 4, which is ONE MONTH from our dinner date! By the way, I heard on the news last night that the mayor of New York City was lifting mask mandates as of today, I guess. That will apply for the restaurant, but I'm not sure if it will apply for the venue in Brooklyn. We'll have to keep checking. And PS: I am also a mushroom fan but if anyone would like any peppers that may show up on my dishes, you may be my guest! 4

kreacher
I actually prefer the options on the prix-fixe menu and it's cheaper. but if we go with the other menu, what i'd choose based on what i'd eat would be: ANTIPASTI E INSALATE Choose 3 Bruschetta (Grilled Italian bread with fresh tomato, basil, garlic, and olive oil) ....and that's it, the rest all have some things I dislike. Anyone want to trade this course for their desert? ENTRÉE Choose 4 Penne alla Vodka (Penne with onions, ham, fresh tomato, light cream, parmesan cheese and a splash of vodka) - ham and vodka are a bit iffy, but if this is what others want i can make it work Farfalle Isabella (Bowtie pasta with chicken, broccoli, roasted bell peppers sauce, garlic and olive oil) - this is my #1 choice! Pollo al Limone (Egg batter coated chicken breast sautéed with white wine, butter and lemon) - hopefully i won't be able to taste the wine No others. DOLCE Choose 3 Tiramisu Crostantina alla Crema di Limone (Homemade Amalfi coast miniature lemon tart) Sorbetti Misti Too bad we can't order from the kids menu, they had a couple good options there Edited March 2, 2022 by kreacher

Prisca
Here is the Priscasoon opinion to the menu. I used Michelle's menu suggestion as a template. ANTIPASTI E INSALATE Bruschetta Grilled Italian bread with fresh tomato, basil, garlic, and olive oil Caprese Capri style tomato and mozzarella salad with basil, oregano and olive oil Melanzane alla Sorrentina Baked eggplant with tomato, mozzarella, basil and parmesan cheese ENTRÉE Pappardelle San Marzano Pappardelle pasta with san marzano tomato, garlic, olive oil and basil Ravioli alla Positanese Cheese ravioli with mushrooms, sausage, peas and tomato sauce Gnocchi con Polpette Homemade potato gnocchi with veal and beef meatballs in a tomato ragu I propose this here: Farfalle Isabella Bowtie pasta with chicken, broccoli, roasted bell peppers sauce, garlic and olive oil Dee would like this and the gnocci are probably not gluten-free (regular gluten-containing flour is probably added to the potatoes). I don't know if I'm the only one who has problems with gluten at dinner, but I'll probably go for the salmon anyway. or Risotto alla Pescatore Italian rice with mixed seafood in a light tomato sauce The only option I see on the main menu that is gluten-free (apart from the fish/meat main courses). Not everyone, however, likes sea food, so I would rather go for the Farfalle Isabella as a third choice. Salmone alla Griglia Grilled marinated salmon over romaine, arugula, cucumbers & pickled onions over herbed oil DOLCE Tiramisu Gigino style tiramisu Crostantina alla Crema di Limone Homemade Amalfi coast miniature lemon tart Sorbetti Misti Fruit flavor sorbet Ok, my suggestion actually involves only one change. Your suggestion is great! The Farfalle Isabella sounds nice and would be a great substitute. You are right, the risotto is gluten free, but the salmon dish is as well, I think? Do you find enough things suitable for you to eat on this menu?

Yes, I guess the risotto and all these menus "could" be gluten-free: Salmone alla Griglia Grilled marinated salmon over romaine, arugula, cucumbers & pickled onions over herbed oil Salmone Agrodolce Broiled salmon with capers, pearl onions, white wine & butter served with zucchini Pollo al Limone Egg batter coated chicken breast sautéed with white wine, butter and lemon Pollo Scarpariello Chunks of chicken sautéed with garlic, olive oil and herbs, flavored with prosciutto and white wine

Thanks, Prisca. Nina is also gluten-free, so I'll make sure there are a few choices that will work for everyone! I'll be finalizing this today. I think because we need the flexibility, I'm going to go with the more expensive menu. I'm actually hoping to negotiate something with the restaurant -- they seemed willing to work with us, so we'll see.

MaureenG
I love Caprese❤️ Capri style tomato and mozzarella salad with basil, oregano andolive oil I’m flexible with the menu but I love Caprese I’m just letting y’all know. I guess we finalize the time when we’re meeting for our get together at the restaurant on April 4? Looking forward to it.❤️

dcdeb
I know you all probably thought you'd heard the last of this subject, BUT... I have been going back and forth with the woman from the restaurant and she has said that we can have the fixed price menu, and if anyone needs something special they CAN substitute, but will be charged a la carte. Does that work for everyone? It sounded like most of you could make the fixed price menu work, right? I'm trying to make this as painless financially as possible, and honestly $35 for 3 courses in NYC is an amazing price. Even $55 is, but of course we will have to add tax and gratuity on top of all that. Anyhow, I'm going to finalize this with the restaurant TODAY, so please lmk either: A) $35 Fixed price menu is OK B) I'd rather do the $55/person menu I promise this is the last I'll bother you with this, so that we can get down to the business of having fun! Thanks for bearing with me.
