L'Hippodrome ParisLongchamp a fait le plein de bonnes ondes pour sa 26ème édition, qui s'est tenue du 28 au 30 juin sous une météo un brin capricieuse. L'appel à la mobilisation lancé par Solidarité Sida et ses 3.000 bénévoles a été largement entendu. Sur trois jours et deux nuits, ce cru 2024 de Solidays a rassemblé un total de 260.467 spectateurs. Il s'agit - de peu mais c'est un fait - du record de fréquentation du festival de musique inauguré en 1999 ! L'an dernier, 259.735 festivaliers avaient fait le déplacement. Les fonds récoltés lors de cette édition de Solidays vont permettre de financer plus de 110 projets de lutte contre le VIH portés par 80 associations dans 21 pays. Toutefois, la joie est de courte durée. « Cette nouvelle ne cache cependant pas les difficultés de plus en plus nombreuses rencontrées dans l'organisation du festival et ne présente pas une garantie pour l'avenir » souligne Solidarité Sida dans un communiqué. "On a toutes les raisons d'être inquiets" Jusqu'à la veille de la première journée, des places se trouvaient encore en vente. Le signe d'un essoufflement qui fait craindre un déséquilibre dans les finances du festival. « La billetterie marche mais il reste encore des billets dimanche et des billets nuit. L'année dernière, le samedi était complet mi-mars » soulignait Luc Barruet, le patron du festival parisien, en évoquant comme principale justification « le coût de la vie » : « Dans le public de Solidays, des gens ont des sujets, comme les revenus et ce qu'ils peuvent dépenser dans des projets culturels ». Mais aussi la forte concurrence d'autres événements. « Les tensions sont plus fortes après le Covid qu'avant.
