Όλοι μαζί βρεθήκαμε στο Λυκαβητό και απολάυσαμε μια την υπέροχη συναυλία του Μίκα! Ο χορός ασταμάτητος και η χαρά των αγοριών που παρευρέθηκαν δεν μπορεί να περηγραφεί με λόγια!

Rockwave Nights: Mika @ Θεατρο Λυκαβηττού, 02/07/24

Σχεδόν την ίδια μέρα πέρυσι, είχαμε την τύχη να δούμε τον Mika με τη μπάντα του σε μια φαντασμαγορική εμφάνιση στο Terra Vibe, κάτι που μας είχε αφήσει με τις καλύτερες εντυπώσεις. Με την ανακοίνωση της συναυλίας στο θέατρο Λυκαβηττού ως headliner, ήταν δεδομένο ότι θα επιστρέψουμε.

 

Φτάνοντας στο χώρο του θεάτρου, η αλήθεια είναι πως η αίσθηση ήταν κάπως αποκαρδιωτική, αφού πολύς λίγος κόσμος βρισκόταν ήδη εκεί. Ναι, ήταν καθημερινή, ναι έχουμε πλέον πάρα πολλές συναυλίες σε αυτή τη “θερμή” σεζόν, κι επιπλέον το εισιτήριο ήταν αρκετά τσιμπημένο σε τιμή, κάτι που προφανώς λειτούργησε ανασταλτικά στην προσέλευση του κοινού. Πέρα απο τον πυρήνα των φανατικών οπαδών του Mika που είχαν πιάσει απο νωρίς το χώρο μπρος στο κάγκελο, με φανταχτερό ρουχισμό, ακόμη και κάποια υπερμεγέθη λουλούδια ανα χείρας, το υπόλοιπο θέατρο ήταν μισοάδειο, με διάσπαρτο κόσμο στις κερκίδες.

 

Με μια κάποια καθυστέρηση περίπου μισής ώρας που έφερε στην παρέα μας λίγο ακόμη κόσμο, το “Origin Of Love” άνοιξε τη βραδιά. Μιας και καθόμουν στην κερκίδα, προσπάθησα να καταλάβω εάν ο Mika είχε αρχίσει να τραγουδά από τα παρασκήνια, μέχρι να τον δω να εμφανίζεται μέσα στη μέση του κοινού που ήταν στην πλατεία, με τον φανταχτερό κιθαρίστα στο πλευρό του.

 

Ήταν σε αυτό το σημείο όπου φαίνεται το υλικό από το οποίο είναι φτιαγμένος ο Mika. Μπορεί αλλού να παίζει σε γεμάτα venues, για χιλιάδες κόσμου, ωστόσο το γεγονός ότι είχαν έρθει λίγα (για τα δεδομένα του χώρου) άτομα να τον δουν, δεν τον πτόησε στιγμή. Όπως ανέφερε ο ίδιος, ένιωθε τυχερός γιατί θα ήταν η πρώτη φορά που θα έπαιζε για όλους τους φίλους του, και θα ήταν μια μοναδική εμπειρία. Μόνο και μόνο από τα χαμόγελα του κοινού αλλά και την αστείρευτη ενέργειά του, θα αποδείκνυε έμπρακτα τα λεγόμενά του.

 

Να πούμε για ενέργεια, για επαγγελματισμό; Όντας αεικίνητος, τόσο πάνω στη σκηνή, όσο και στις μπόλικες φορές που έγινε ένα με τον κόσμο, τραγουδούσε και αλληλεπιδρούσε μαζί του. Κι όλα αυτά, με φωνητικές ακροβασίες, με αδιάκοπο χορό, παίζοντας άλλοτε πιάνο κι άλλοτε τρέχοντας κι αλωνίζοντας το χώρο. Ακόμη και στο οπτικό κομμάτι δε μας άφησε παραπονεμένους, αλλάζοντας τις εμφανίσεις του αστραπιαία (τέσσερις στο σύνολο αν δεν απατώμαι).

 

Κι όταν πάλι οι ταχύτητες κατέβηκαν, η πιο ευαίσθητη πλευρά του μοιράστηκε μαζί μας, μιλώντας για τις αγαπημένες γυναίκες της ζωής του, τη γιαγιά και τη μητέρα του, λέγοντας πως του έδωσαν μαθήματα ζωής μέσα από τις εντάσεις αλλά και την αγάπη που του έδωσαν.

 

Ξεχωριστή στιγμή η παρουσία ενός πιτσιρικά (μάλλον απο τη Γαλλία) τον οποίο ο Mika ανέβασε στη σκηνή, και ζητώντας του να δώσει το έναυσμα σε όλους για να χορέψουν με όποιον έχουν δίπλα τους, ασχέτως αν γνωρίζονται ή όχι. Η ανταπόκριση στο κάλεσμα ήταν συνολική και η ενέργεια στο “Elle Me Dit” μας έκανε να ξεχνάμε οτι βρισκόμαστε σε ένα μισοάδειο θέατρο.

 

Οι εκπλήξεις δε σταμάτησαν, και στο “Grace Kelly” ένα εντυπωσιακό τέχνασμα έκανε το πιάνο να αναβλύζει πολύχρωμα λουλούδια, και τον Mika να τα απλώνει στη σκηνή, να τα πετάει στον κόσμο αλλά και στους υπόλοιπους μουσικούς. Η επανένωση με “τους φίλους” ήρθε στο “We Are Golden” όπου και πάλι αυτή η παρέα ζούσε ένα ξέφρενο πάρτυ.

 

To καθιερωμένο encore ήρθε απλά να επιστεγάσει αυτή τη γεμάτη βραδιά. Τι μας έμεινε; Ένα μάθημα αρχικά, από τον ίδιο τον πρωταγωνιστή, που έδειξε πόσο αληθινά πιστεύει αυτό που κάνει και με πόση αγάπη το προσεγγίζει, είτε παίζοντας σε αρένα είτε μπροστά σε μερικές εκατοντάδες κόσμου. Καταθέτοντας κάθε ρανίδα ενέργειας και ψυχής, έκανε μια δυνητικά άχαρη εμφάνιση μια εμπειρία που όσοι έζησαν θα έχουν να θυμούνται.

Almost on the same day last year, we were lucky enough to see Mika and his band in a spectacular performance at Terra Vibe, which left us with the best impressions. With the announcement of the concert at the Lycabettus Theater as a headliner, it was a foregone conclusion that we would be back.

 

Arriving at the theater, the truth is that the feeling was somewhat disheartening, since very few people were already there. Yes, it was a weekday, yes we now have too many concerts in this "hot" season, and in addition the ticket was quite stingy in price, which obviously acted as a deterrent to the attendance of the public. Apart from the core of Mika's fanatical fans who had taken up the space in front of the railing early on, in fancy clothes and even some oversized flowers in hand, the rest of the theater was half empty, with people scattered in the stands.

 

With a delay of about half an hour which brought a few more people to our company, "Origin Of Love" opened the evening. As I was sitting in the stands, I tried to figure out if Mika had started singing from behind the scenes, until I saw him appear in the middle of the audience that was in the square, with the fancy guitarist at his side.

 

It was at this point where the stuff that Mika is made of shows. He may be playing in full venues elsewhere, for thousands of people, but the fact that few (for the venue's standards) people had come to see him, did not deter him for a moment. As he mentioned, he felt lucky because it would be the first time he would play for all his friends, and it would be a unique experience. Just from the smiles of the audience and his inexhaustible energy, he would prove his words in practice.

 

Shall we say about energy, about professionalism? Being immobile, both on stage and the many times he became one with the crowd, he sang and interacted with them. And all this, with vocal acrobatics, with non-stop dancing, sometimes playing the piano and sometimes running and pounding the space. Even in the visual part, he didn't leave us complaining, changing his appearances in a flash (four in total if I'm not mistaken).

 

And when the speeds slowed down again, he shared his most sensitive side with us, talking about the beloved women in his life, his grandmother and his mother, saying how they gave him life lessons through the tensions but also the love they gave him.

 

A special moment was the presence of a kid (probably from France) whom Mika brought on stage, and asking him to give the trigger to everyone to dance with whoever is next to them, regardless of whether they know each other or not. The response to the call was total and the energy in "Elle Me Dit" made us forget that we were in a half-empty theater.

 

The surprises didn't stop, and in "Grace Kelly" an impressive trick made the piano spew colorful flowers, and Mika spread them on the stage, throwing them to the world and to the rest of the musicians. The reunion with "the friends" came in "We Are Golden" where again this group lived a wild party.

 

The customary encore came simply to top off this packed evening. What are we left with? A lesson initially, from the protagonist himself, who showed how truly he believes in what he does and with how much love he approaches it, whether playing in an arena or in front of a few hundred people. Putting forth every ounce of energy and soul, he made a potentially cheesy performance an experience that those who lived through it will remember.
